Not sure if that question was for me?, but i managed to get the game to work, it took some time and i had to disable dx11 and a few other settings, it now works fine, Nvidia SLI does not work in GRFS for me though, anything directx 11 and my game just crashes. Thanks.Originally Posted by Ubi-Mush Go to original post
There seriously needs to be an option to NOT UPDATE THE GOD DAMN GAME. I had 1.7 and it worked great for me. I open it a few months later to play some single player, get this 1.8 update (that I didn't need in the first place) and now I can't stay in the game longer than 10 minutes. I lost all my progress from my first profile because the game completely froze my pc, had hit restart to get it back up again, went in today to find out everything is lost. had a few more missions on elite to finish up and I would've had all the hardness levels done, but now I have to completely start over.
Seriously, the game worked just fine for me, I don't play mp. Now the game just cuts out on me with no warning at all. 1st mission after the nuke goes off, get to where I have to sneak past everyone, and the next thing I know, i'm looking at my desktop.
ok, well i'm sorry for my earlier rant, I was rather pissed off at my computer.
But, I did find a work around for those having issues with the dx11 crashes. Even if you open the dx9 version, it'll load the dx11 program. So, what I did was to first rename the dx9 to something else (I did dx90) and then rename the dx11 version to dx9 and the dx9 to dx11. just played an hour and half with no further crashes
Future Soldier DX9 first became Future Soldier DX90
Future Soldier DX11 became Future Soldier DX9
Future Soldier DX90 became Future Soldier DX11
Since it wants to open the dx11 version, I just gave it what it wants.
My system:
I7 3820, 16gb ram, 2x gtx 780, 180gb ssd and win 8.
I cant believe how bad the support is for GRFS is.... I was playing with that hardware in win 7 no problems.. went to windows 8 and BOOM... loooaaads of crashes.. After hours and hours tryin to figure out if it was my rig or windows 8 i could finnaly figure out that its UBISOFT who fail... I played 15 other games (newer and old ones) and none of em made my system crash...
UBISOFT`S excuse is thats its because its windows 8 is very complex, but i call BS on that... How come that none of the other 15 games crashed? How come that the developers of those 15 games is up to date with win 8? I mean come on... your the guys behind Assasins creed.. Surely you should have brains enough to figure windows 8 out...
On a side note: The only way i could make it run with no crashes as if i turned of SLI mode. But again i cba to play a game and only use one GFX card, specially when i have used all that money on a computer. And its so pathetic that UBISOFT cannot fix the problem with GRFS when running SLI mode in WIN 8.
Conclusion: I will never buy a UBISOFT game ever and i will always advice others not to. Either thay have bad support, lack of staff or just bad at graphic coding. Even the makers of Minecraft is better then them. They should stay away from PC games and maybe focus more on making simple things. Maybe something like making displays for a refrigirator.
The fact is i was gonna buy Assasins creed 3, but after this experience i will never ever even look at UBISOFT games anymore. I dont wanna risk using a half a day of my life(that i will never get back again) on game developers with bad support.
