I present you with Overgrown Compound (My first attempt at map editing) and Afghanistan Compound; these are both available for download on PS3. I would appreciate it if you could download and have a look at both of them. I am fully open to constructive criticism and will look at improving these maps accordingly before declaring them complete.
I apologise for the 'poor' images, they were taken on my phone and uploaded to my Instagram page, but they give you the general look of each map.
Overgrown Compound
Afghanistan Compound
I await your feedback and suggestions.
Cheers, Howy007.
Ok so I'm not the best at giving feedbacks, forgive me ^^
Had a look in the editor of your maps, I can say both of it are good proper maps. I didn't see any bugs/glitches or collision issues so it's all good.
I like more Afghanistan than Overgrown. I like the military base style of Afghanistan, it should play well, Overgrown is more classical imo.
The only thing you should do/change is the mountains in the background, I know this is not very important but a bit more work on it to make them more realistic would be good. And that's it![]()
Afghanistan Compound - I would use these paints - Jungle Dirt 3, Cliff 2, Smooth Sand, Gravel 1. The sand blend from roads into dirt 3. Lose the mountains nearest domination point 'C' all the way along that edge. Time of day to 12:40. Only use brushes Medium Desert and Low Rocks - use sparingly. Add more barrels/ boxes / palettes behind buildings and also to break up so lines of sight in the open spaces. Gameplay zone is fine. Some spawns are very near transmission points but would need to play it to see how that works. Nice map, I like it.
Overgrown Compound - its a bit flat. Alot of grass round the roads doesnt look right to me and did I say flat? Up to u how u change that. I would use a darker grass terrain paint. Could add alot more fences around and between buildings - theres always walls and fences everywhere in real life - keep that in mind. The layout looks fine. Just a bit flat. I like it overall.
