Times Played - Votes - Tier

One thing which appears difficult to understand is how maps progress but at the same time how they become demoted.
Stats don't seem to be as clear cut as they appear when looking at the numbers, it would be nice to get some scenarios and answers on how this works.

Lets take Rich Man$ World as an example.

    Times Played 40
    Votes 28
    Tier - Bronze

Now look at Ultra Industries CQ by the same author

    Times Played 20
    Votes 16
    Tier Silver

The 1st map has twice as many plays but I guess the ratio on votes is higher for the second map.

Hazardas Materials again by the same author.

    Times played 18
    Votes 16
    Tier Silver

It looks like Times Played is not much of a factor and almost all maps have negative Player Feedback so I am guessing this is all down to votes which moves a player from Bronze to Silver or back down from Silver to Bronze.

I have some questions for the Community Manager's or anyone on the team who can find the info for us.

    1. Getting a map into Bronze, is this simply by Publishing and playing the map in the Beta Test Playlist or does it work the same by hosting a map in a Private room with friends.

    2. Going from Bronze to Silver - what are the main factors that make this happen and at the same time what demotes a map back down

Gold is obviously map Nominations and Votes in the Forums here.

    3. Times Played / Votes / Player Feedback - which ones from those on the left help a map the most in progressing through the Tiers.

    Next Time Around
It all appears a little frustrating, I would hope in any future game that you could simply record Times Played and Times Downloaded and forget the tags and other things - keep it simple, if you need a playlist have a competitive one for the Clans (Stock maps that ship with the game), Have a Standard one for all players (Stock maps that ship with the game) and have one just for User Made Maps but these must be tested thoroughly and be fit to warrant an entry into the list - From the best User Made Maps maybe they could trickle through into the Clan / Standard Playlist if the feedback is positive enough - maybe 1 or 2 maps a month at the most with a view to having them voted each month to stay or be kicked off the list.

Lastly there must be a Custom Lobby for people where they can host their own maps and with this they need options galore and the person hosting the room needs to be seen on a list showing the number in the room - joining should show the players and allow people to switch teams in the lobby.

Sorry to go off topic but can someone give answers to the current Tier System - Votes & Times Played

    Thanks

    Edit
I just joined a Beta Map which was really poor / dreadful in fact - managed to stick in there and get spawn killed for the full 15 mins - 2 of us onto 4 of them.
What hurts is that we don't appear to get the XP in this Playlist - I understand it in a Custom match where we invite people to the game but IMO we should still get XP and Rank Up when using the Beta Test Playlist

It all appears to be very random to say the least, Also the option to boot a teamkilling player is absent

I have to admit Ksmic that in FC2 the option to kick players for me ruined the game, many times I got close to the leading players score in DM mode or got ahead of them and would be kicked for no reason - I had a really bad time with it.

And some would instigate a vote just so that a team would lose a player and give them an advantage - In Far cry Predator there was no way to kick a player but in FC Evolution they had that choice.
However with team killers we would all just gang up on one player that was spoiling things until they left - Failing that we would go to the loby and chat and wait which often resulted in them eventually leaving.
Shutting down the room and restarting was a pain so the last resort was to switch to a map which was designed for *** holes where they spawn in a pit and cant get out, the other team just hammers them from above - That always did the trick - The kick by voting I hated but maybe only the Host could have the option, and a message shows up when the host kicks a player - If the host does it a lot they would get a bad name.

I think the only matter is Likes/Favorites vs Dislikes ... if it even works properly ! And Favorites seems to be a boost to Silver.

Privates match and Beta Test works the same in that count, I think.

    That's all I know.

Yeah the system can be abused both ways, right now i have a problem of certain players coming in my lobby just too vote to skip map or ruin stuff in a bad way like teamkilling.
But sure, a malicious host can abuse it, but
The option to boot a player from a lobby is traditionally present to a host. Its just forgotten here and Im not talking about voting for a boot, that was indeed awkward. Right now when a player starts to lose, they sometimes give up and leave. Isnt that the same? And being able to boot as a host could balance that.
But ofcourse it never should be used like that. Just like a player shouldnt leave when he starts losing, but hey? It happens...

So basically for proper lobby regulation At least the host should be able to moderate.
Because i now usually send messages to the rest of the players in a lobby apologizing for the behaviour of a bad player and the fact i cant boot him.lol
