    Terrible mouse control on PC

    I was genuinely excited to play this game, but after 10 minutes I couldn't play any more. I'm shocked that a game coming out now can have such awful controls on the PC. The issue I'm specifically referring to is mouse acceleration.

    Even if you turn off mouse acceleration and change anything that looks like "smoothness" to 0 in the config file, there is still a horrible delay and a sort of "sticky aim" when you point near targets. Yes, vsync is off and I'm playing at around 100 fps. The game is clearly not using raw mouse input.

    See the problem with this is that, as a long time PC FPS player, I've grown accustomed to the game doing exactly what my mouse tells it to do. When the two contradict each other, your hand has to try to compensate, but because the acceleration pattern is completely unknown and unnatural, there are a lot of tiny backwards and forwards muscle movements. I can see how this could cause RSI and make for quite an uncomfortable experience.

    Go and play any Call of Duty game, or any Counter Strike game, and the difference is night and day. This reeks of development for console and a botched PC port (see: weapon selection wheel also, perfectly fine on console, doesn't work at all on PC). I wonder if any play testing was actually even done for the PC before release.

    Far Cry 3 was also another botched pc port. Both of these games are poorly optimized for the pc. However I disabled mouse acceleration and do not experience the issue you are having. I have vsync on, perhaps that's the difference? Are you running in xfire or sli by any chance?

    Down in the gmaerprofile.xml -

    ProfileSpecificGameProfile Sensitivity="0.4" Invert_x="0" Invert_y="0" DefaultFlickFireDirection_y="0" UseMouseSmooth="0" Smoothness="0" Smoothness_Ironsight="0" HelpCrosshair="1" Gamepad_vibration="0" UseRoadSignHilight="1" UseSubtitles="0" TaggingEnabled="1" WikiUpdatedEnabled="1" CollectibleUpdatedEnabled="1" TutorialUpdatedEnabled="1" ObjectiveReminderEnabled="0" CraftingTipsEnabled="1" DisplayXPEnabled="1" DetectionIndicatorEnabled="1" HitIndicatorEnabled="1" GrenadeIndicatorEnabled="1" UseAmbx="0" UseGamePad="0" GamepadAnswered="0" Autosave="1" Machete="0" IronsightToggleMode="0">

    These below are the important ones to get rid of that laggy feel- I did it in CF3, and now BD..
    UseMouseSmooth="0" Smoothness="0" Smoothness_Ironsight="0"

    Seems to fine to me but I have another huge problem that I am going to make a thread about.. that so far makes game unplayable.

    Nope, single GPU. I use high DPI and low sensitivity, and I've been reading its most noticeable like this, which would make sense. I did try lower DPI and slightly higher mouse sensitivity but it still feels the same to me.

    Edit: to the person above, I have made all those changes.

    Hmm.. strange I don't feel that lag after I set up the xml file as above.. iust was really slow when on the turret weapon in the opening heli scene though.

    I am just using regular cordless laser Logitech mouse (M505).

    I cannot switch weapons with mouse wheel though! Game about unplayable for me because of that.

    Oh and don't get me started on this PRESS ENTER business. I'm a PC gamer, look where my hands are.

    After shooting through the scope, I do feel a weird lag that is not there in FC3, there's like a delay when trying to pull the mouse down anfter the recoil pulls the sight picture up. Very laggy and bad feeling..
