Ubisoft regional pricing - deal breaker despite Blood Dragon looking great

I was ready to break my moratorium on buying Ubisoft games because Blood Dragon looked great. No DRM, available on steam, fov slider., decent price.. all the right boxes checked. I went to steam to buy it and... regional pricing. $US15 in the US, $US18 in Australia. Charged more money in the same currency because screw us right? No Ubisoft, screw you.

If you wonder why sales are low, it's not (solely) because the copy was leaked early. It's because you continue to shaft the people who want to buy your game. You were so close. Please fix this regional pricing issue and I will happily buy your great looking game.

Why would they charge with US dollars in Australia?

All steam games are sold in US dollars on steam for Australia. The real question is, why don't all companies sell their game online in their own currency and let us sort the conversion. The answer of course is they can make more money this way by charging at more advantageous price points to get the benefit of the currency fluctuations themselves.

As an Australian I am too pissed off.

I have brought the game, but I wish it had been $15.

Australian prices are always high for games. Call Of Duty Black Ops II for example is $90 for you vs $60 for the US and most other countries.

What really pisses me off is Ubishop store and their Digital River crap pricing in EURO for me here in Egypt while we use USD for Steam and all other digital services.

For example, Blood Dragon is $14.99 on Steam for me while it is 14.99€ (~$19.75)

No wonder why I will NEVER buy from Ubishop no matter what because Steam is way better and WAY cheaper

I too am Australian and am not happy at local pricing.

Just now I went on to the PSN store to buy it thinking it would be $15 to find that they are charging a ridiculous $21.95 for it. I won't be buying it now, Ubisoft you've lost another sale.

Good man. If enough of us do this... they'll keep blaming it on piracy probably.

You were so close Ubi. One last thing to fix and we'd happily buy this game.

Which is why more people need to take a stance. Gamers in general are so weak willed.

I picked up a code for free Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3 and Blood Dragon (AMD promotion). Steam and EA keys had no problems. Ubisofts wouldn't work. GG Ubisoft, I should have known better.
