Far Cry 3's Rook islands are beautiful, but are there any real tropical islands like them. And by that I mean, a small almost minuscule population, tropical obviously, green and lush, maybe even an ancient mysterious past with a rich culture, native people still inhabit the island?
I'd looked around and there are some Malayan islands like them, I think that's what the developers based them on.
Just makes you think, would love to visit something like the islands in fc3.
our planet is beautiful, once you get past the skyscrapers and miles upon mile of roads.
Clipped from Far Cry Wiki - http://farcry.wikia.com/wiki/Rook_Islands
"Based on the culture, nature and in-game mentions, the islands are theorized to be located near the Mariana Trench region of the Pacific Ocean, between Thailand and Papua New Guinea. In real life, an island called Rook Island/Umboi Island is located near Papua New Guinea."
You can google earth and find Umboi Island. Looks pretty close if you ask me.
At times, I just wanna ditch everything and move to Rook island. Find some abandonned shack on the top of a big hill and set up. Hell, plenty of food around, as long as you're not some ***** vegan. The lack of technology would be a shock, but the enviroment is condusive to excellent growing, so there's that!
Plus, Vass and Hoyt are gone, so most of the islands' strife is done now. Might be a nice way to live out one's days.
