SS = Camp fest. If you think Overpass is bad on conflict, imagine it without any objectives.

You say bad, I say nothing in the way of a simple shoot out. Camping can suck, but a good player can get around it, and actually use it against the camper. All the objectives do in this game is screw it all up. People complaining they are not on the Ghost team, people playing deathmatch instead of helping their team mates cause their KDR is more important to them. The current objective modes would be so much better for you if they gave us oldtimers OUR favorite modes back, that way we'd be out of your rooms letting you capture your objectives, while we were having fun in our gametypes. The only problem you might run into is the fact that I bet that the current gametypes would probably dry out pretty quick if that happened.

I disagree about this, a game mode oriented towards kills would be harder to get kills in then a game mode oriented towards capturing an objective. If they where included I feel that the people would jump into objective rooms just to get easier kills on people that are actually PTO. I also doubt the old gametypes would dry out. I have alot of fun with something to do other then kill someone, and I know a lot of people that would agree. I love the objectives in game modes, makes things more interesting and requires more thought on how to approach a situation.

Was there ever a capture the flag in any of the older games? Im thinking that would be proper fun/rage

Actually, by providing the deathmatch game types, it allowed the players to get it out of their system, and made objective games more focused. They were also fairly popular. I also believe they had capture the flag.
When Ghost Recon first came out, it was an FPS with a floating recticle and no view of the gun. That increased the tacticle feel, because then instead of this snap into cover BS, you actually had to judge line of sight. At one point you could LEAN with the controller, that way you didn't have to completely expose yourself! You also didn't have grenade arcs!
See, I think there's room for both styles, I also think it would improve the experience for objective game types like it used too, because the option would be there for when you just want to shoot someone.

If they were really that popular people would still be playing them.
