But those are games where anything can kill you instantly. In Gears, you have to whittle your opponents' health down. Or just press B and insta-kill them.Originally Posted by LoadedLove Go to original post
Again, just like every single game out. GRFS OHK - Melee, Explosives, Shotguns, Some Snipers. COD OHK - Melee, Explosives, Shotguns, some snipers. From what I can gather from your Gears video is that, the melee doesnt OHK, but that shotgun seems to. Are there explosives in that game?Originally Posted by Charity Diary Go to original post
Halo on the other hand.. has nothing that can OHK it seems like lol.
EDIT: Every game you have to whittle down health. From least needed I think it goes like this from least needed to most(recent titles i've played) GRFS > COD > MOH(havnt played most recent, but played the last)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo.
You've never played Gears of War, have you? The community takes pride in their long, intense shotgun battles, and the game is 99% CQC. When you can suddenly just press B to kill someone, it kind of ruins the game for a lot of people.Originally Posted by LoadedLove Go to original post
Personally, the removal of the rifles' stopping power ruined it for me. They basically gave shotgun users the ability to just sprint around the map without penalty.
That's what Naughty Dog did to Uncharted 3's multiplayer when it first released, they removed stopping power and they broke their own game. The multiplayer was people just running up to you blindfiring, then meleeing you for the kill (since it took 2 melees to kill so soften them up with some bullets then melee for the kill). They had a summer beta, which was great, then they broke everything because of people whining. Naughty Dog also made sprinting really easy, in the beta, you could really only sprint straight and it was hard to turn but then the when the game release, you could zigzag just fine while sprinting. Naughty Dog eventually fixed the game as they increased stopping power bit by bit. The first couple times they added stopping power back, the community was like the game is still garbage. All they had to do was change everything back to the way it was in the beta.Originally Posted by Charity Diary Go to original post

A typical life (for me) in Gears: Judgement is typically... I spawn at the bottom of the map and I have to sprint for like 30 seconds to get to the top of the map, where everyone else is camping. I see an enemy a little ways away, so I start shooting him with my Hammerburst rifle. He gets behind cover, so I forget about him and move on. I see another guy at mid-range, and I start hammering him with my rifle as well, but he just runs up to me with his shotgun and melee+kills me. Then I spawn at the bottom of the map again.
I don't see how anyone thinks the game is fun... Without stopping power, the only weapon that's actually viable is the shotgun, which is abused ridiculously. Couple that with the grenades that make you invincible for like 20 seconds, and you have the most frustrating multiplayer game of all time.
Future Soldier's where it's at. For real. I guess it'll just be my favorite multiplayer game forever, because it seems like every new game sucks now.
The melee does feel cheap sometimes, but it's not actually an insta-kill outside of the scout. If you're rolling with a team that watches your back, it's possible to be saved, or save your buddy, from a Rifleman/Engineer melee, 'cause you only die at the final blow. If someone can kill the attacker before he get's that hit in, the victim will get back up, unharmed. I've never saved anyone from the rear neck-slice of the Scout, but I'm sure I've seen it done, but the Scout's touch of death is a done deal... I like the way the melee's diversify the classes just a bit.Originally Posted by LoadedLove Go to original post
Last time I checked, only the chainsaw-bayonet was an insta-kill in Gears (and the Roadie-charge in 3), and even then, if you're facing the dude, and you have another saw, you'll engage in a "chainsaw dual" ...I thought the sawed-off was a way cheaper kill.
In Halo melee will only take shield down but if you do it from behind its a instant kill.Originally Posted by LoadedLove Go to original post
Gears 1- 3 were amazing. It's not the melee. It's that god *beep* mother *beep* piece of *beep* gnasher. Which has been overpowered since gears 3.Originally Posted by Charity Diary Go to original post
I got Judgment today. For anyone that wants to buy this: Burn on copies.. On sight. This is a waste of time and money. Multiplayer is laughably unbalanced. If you use anything but the gnasher your screwed. Simple as that. Stay away. Stay far away. Campaign is no better iether.
Sorry to see Gears taking a dive but at some point you knew they were going to cash in on it's notoriety (Cliffy leaving was a good sign). I'm burned out after the other 3 anyway. Really enjoyed them though, 2&3's MP were good for a LOT of fun.
Even the greats get toppled.
GRFS MP on the other hand is still the shiz. Haven't played in a few weeks but I've had full on addiction mode three times since release (and by that I mean, marathon sessions for weeks in a row, greasy hair and skin, black eyes, crappy diet and weird flashy dreams in the few hours of sleep in between matches).
MP is too good!!
