Far Cry 3 worth purchasing so late?

    Hi,

I have been looking at this game ever since it was released back in November. I even had the game pre-ordered at one point until it was confirmed the game wouldn't be on Steam under the name Steamworks. I then cancelled that as I like to have all my games in one place.

I'm one of a small handful of people who like to buy retail versions of the game. I don't know why I'm just a freaky nerd who enjoys looking at his collection on a stand. All I had wanted was a retail case with a Steam code. That was not available at the time, and I don't know if that's changed or not.

I have had a rethink and I may just buy the game from retail and launch it through the Uplay service and load it as a non Steam Game. I only waited to see if there was a way I could do it like I said above retail with a Steam key.

Is this game still worth purchasing 4 months after it's release at it's full price? As the price hasn't changed that much anywhere. I usually only buy games as pre-orders under the brand new status. Not had anything to play for a while now, and the new releases are not really my kind of game so I'm taking a look at the late 2012 games and may reconsider.

The game did not change after 4 month and the price? In Australia you pay 70bux for retail or you download/buy it for 33bux from "Singapore" (18+ version) - your choice!

It is very good game but wait for a sale.
I just picked it up from UBISOFT this past weekend for $35.
Just keep an eye on different sites like amazon and grab it at a discount.
The sales will keep popping up

What I meant by that was the game is 4 months old. It's no longer a brand new title. I have bought many games in the past months after the release that are supposed to be good but are barely touched because another game that is hyped up is out just around the corner. With Far Cry 3 already having it's exposure in the lead up to it being released it's passed the excitement if you understand.

As for the prices I do not get that problem living in the UK. The retail price is £22 and the online price is £30 if I went with Steam. I wouldn't trust key sites. I was just hoping that somewhere down the line I could get a retail copy with a Steam key as an offer somewhere.

I would read some threads to get an idea of what FC3 actually is before you commit. I have all three and FC3 was a huge disappointment for me. I love FC2 most of all and enjoyed FC1. For me, FC3 is more like an arcade game than a hardcore FPS.

FC2 reminded me a lot of Operation Flashpoint in many ways. You feel like you're on your own and there's no hand-holding. FC3 is the exact opposite.

I also prefer buying retail so I own the disks. I just ordered Arma X through Amazon which had only one factory sealed copy. It's coming from Germany. For some reason this release is very hard to find other than digital download.

If you want a decent SP game then YES it is worth buying, they put a lot of effort into the SP side of the game, the CO-OP isnt too bad either, but the MP is shockingly poor.

If your looking for a game with a good online gaming experience then avoid this title as they royally screwed it up because they didnt have enough time or motivation to do it justice.

Far Cry 3 here http://uk.gamesplanet.com/buy-downlo...3-3167-38.html 26-99 pounds. I normally don't buy new releases but wait 6 months or more before I buy them at a discounted price. Crysis 2 I never bought till 9 months after its release at a discounted price.
