I've noticed that all setting control scheme to "gamepad" does is disable the mouse, the keyboard is still functional. There must be a way to stop the game from blocking the mouse so us with a gamepad can finally enjoy the best of both worlds. Driving with a keyboard is no fun. Aiming with a gamepad is no fun.
It's one of those things that prevents me from enjoying the game for longer stretches of time, it bugs me to no end knowing how much more I'd enjoy it if I didn't have to choose what to have better control of.
I was hoping for the latest patch to address it, but meh. They seem to focus on what modders have already fixed instead of fixing what the community can't figure out how to fix.
Other controllers simply use a different button or gizmo to aim, they don't actively assist anything. I've used a joystick and trackball for PC games longer than most here have been alive. The joystick simply translates pushing the stick forward as a keyboard 'w'. The trackball is simply another pointing device. It still has to be aimed by me, and there is no assisting. If my setup had any significant advantage for the general gaming public over the conventional mouse/keyboard, you can bet that it would be a common setup by now.Originally Posted by jt70ss454 Go to original post
This is not at all what I'm talking about. You just wanted to complain about aim assist. Which I understand is an issue, but this is not the thread.Originally Posted by jt70ss454 Go to original post
But you just made me realize why they've done it this way. To prevent people using mouse from having aim assist, when the problem is having aim assist in multiplayer in the first place.
Also sod off, that last remark is ignorant and only acts to provoke.
