    Mapping 'ON HOLD'

I really enjoy mapping and will continue to make maps - however no further maps of mine will be published until I am able to host them in a Playlist. Hopefully this can be done via the new promised update for 'Beta Testing'. Otherwise I can't see why I should create maps that I can't have playing autonomy on.

    Welcome to the club friend!
I do, truly, LOVE making maps. The whole process is pure zen.

However, I've been criticized for not wanting to make them, just because nobody will ever get to play them. I've been told, "If you truly loved making maps, you wouldn't really care if anyone ever get's to play them or not... I think you're just in it for the compliments."

I have to agree and disagree. Part of the "zen" of making maps is imagining people playing on the map, picturing the battle unfolding, wondering if people will appreciate the little details... That feeling is completely gone if I know that nobody will ever play it and so is the force that drives me to consider how players, other than myself, will utilize or abuse the layout. If nobody else is going to play it, then why not make it totally ridiculous and build in tons of exploits, camping areas, humorous ideas and other ignorance? Eh, because it's just not what I do...

I've noticed some mappers have been a bit bummed, lately.

Diligently, the great maps keep getting crank out...then drown in a sea of average work.
The game that players/mappers hoped would bring together the community, has instead fractured it, and alienated many.
I have all sorts of map ideas, yet haven't felt the urge.
Been making map videos in the meantime

I am also holding off. I made quite few in Far Cry 2 as a late joiner to that game. I was imagining myself making a ton of maps and having a blast playing them with an active community. To this point I have finished 2 and have no desire to finish my current one.
