To me, this is a key feature. We've had this in every single Far Cry game going back to the original Xbox. Why would they remove the map rotation option is beyond me. Is this something that can or will be added?

This is better... Much better, although I agree on the map rotation thing. Also one KEY thing we need in Far Cry 4 is a server browser instead of these stupid automatic servers. I think Far Cry 2 was (and still is) much better than Far Cry 3 to find a match.

Still got the slightest bit of disappointment about this news though

Well, this is a step in the right direction, but there's still no match list or lobby system. For me, that was kind of the "wait and see" that was going to decide whether I kept mapping and playing.

Thank you for adding back Spectating Mode and search maps by author. But hosting one map at a time with no way of inviting players met or allowing others to join without invites means the custom map lobbies are still broken. Vex, when you commented in that post regarding public lobbies, you had us all thinking we might see that feature return for FC3. The new additions you announced are very welcome, but without the proper lobby set up we are still frustrated that we can't host with the same flexibility as before...

    - Access Player Hosting in the menu
    - Select which game mode you'd like to host
    - Choose time limit for match (longer options)
    - Que up about a dozen maps
    - Select to go online and host
    - Players can see your lobby when they browse lobbies by mode
    - They are free to join without an invite
    - After match is over, players are listed in Players Met (to invite back next time)

Under the impression you pitched our public lobby request and it didn't make it. But we have all these other updates to sweeten the deal. Although i am seriously grateful you managed to bring back Spectating and Map Search by Author, without public lobbies we are all very much stuck in the same spot we were before.

Can we please get a response regarding public lobbies. Is it something planned for FC3 or not?

"3. Other players who wish to help out with testing new maps, can join the new Beta Test Playlist or go into the Map Archive where all current maps in Beta Test will be displayed."

Since it is in the Map Archive, then I'm pretty sure that we'll be able to choose which map we want to join and be able to join it from the Map Archive Screen. If you select the playlist, though, then it looks like you'll be tossed into a random map to play. I'm not too sure about it though, but I doubt there would be a list of maps just for the sake of showing that there are maps being played.

Thanks for bearing with us Vextor. This is good news!

    Sooo still;
    - No server list
    - No map rotation, you still have to force everyone out and hope they come back just to switch maps.
    - No reason to continue playing FC3 and mapping.

Thanks for the effort though, I guess. :/

Still baffles me how you can't just add map rotation and switching. What online game of any sort in the last 20 years has ever forced players to restart the whole lobby/game/process just to switch a map? Not to mention game modes, if you choose what game mode to play (even in private matches) the "lobby" apparently has it's own free-thinking mind and will only let you have the gamemode that you've chosen the first time, and if you play the map a second time it'll randomly select a game mode regardless of what you choose in the options.

Can't believe I got my hopes up and waited this long for no news.

While this is DEFINITELY a step in the right direction it's still miles behind where it needs to be. I really hope this isn't the best Ubisoft can do. This may be an SP only game for me.

Do you really want to assume anything at this point?

I want to hear that there's a 'Join map' option in the Map Archive. Otherwise, we are no better off than before...

That's true. We'll just have to wait for clarification.
