Exclusivity agreements of games & Consoles amounts to lost cashflow for Ubisoft!
Ubisoft, you are doing yourselves, and your customers a disservice by allowing or limiting games to be released on one system, but not another. As a Rayman fan, I am quite upset it may be a year or more, if ever, before I see Rayman Legends on a 3DS cartridge. I realize there was flack about the controls in Rayman DS, but I've played through 3
times now, and it's an excellent port of Rayman 2 for the the Dreamcast; just need to learn the controls which is time consuming for some. Two items were evidently missing according to Wikipedia, some mini games, and Globox Villiage. I would love to see these offered as a free downloadable update in the 3DS-eShop, but would gladly pay the average, $4.99 to see what I missed. I am also upset about many games released for consoles never finding their way to handheld units like the Vita, and my 3DS. I can't afford both, and prefer the handheld anyway. I hope you make Legends available for the 3DS, and have a few suggestions should you decide to grace we Rayman fans who own
3DS's with the game. First, forget the 3D effects; they are a gimmick, and use too much of the liimited memory available for a good port; as happened with Rayman 3D. Rayman 3D was enjoyable only because I am logical, knew the game would not sell at retail for long, so I waited, and paid $16. Compared to Rayman DS, the 3D port was easier, and much better for those who didn't like the challenge of learning the complicated controls the DS version offered, but a lot of content was taken out in the 3DS version. This is why I say, if you Port Legends for the 3DS, don't use the 3D effects, and give us a full port of the game, just as you almost did with Rayman DS. Should you need to cut some of the graphical nuances as well to fit the game on to the cartridge, I would rather have the full port minus 3D effects and some deleted graphics. You did a great job with Rayman DS, do it again with Legends, and don't buy into the 3D. Just because a handheld has a certain ability does not mean you must use that ability, and in many cases, Legends being an example, you shouldn't! Rayman 3D failed because it was short, and didn't offer the challenge or content we expected of a Rayman DS port. Rayman 3DS would have done better as a $14.99 download in the eShop in my opinion. In the end, please port Rayman Legends to the 3DS (without 3D effects) in it's entirety. I would also like to see my Sony Vita friends get the port as well. I think the days of exclusivity are numbered as they tend to hurt the manufacturer, and the player which is never a sane strategy when practicing good business. We all lose!
