It doesn't really matter anyway companies know that can do the bare minimum and there will always be people willing to pay more for the same old crap. That's why in cars get like an extra 1 mpg better every year because there working hard and breaking technological boundaries, no that's BS we all know MPG could be much better except there's no money in that. Its amazing how much crap the average person is willing to accept especially Americans. Sorry but its true give us our tablets, iphones, football, food, and lots of it along with a huge suv and were all set. We Americans are even willing to be subjected to over 200,000 chemicals used to help process our foods and make our many products while they only have tested 2% of them. And were all shocked when 1-100 kids get autism. The biggest one is the Federal Reserve, its very name is designed to deceive. Its no more federal than fed-ex there a privately owned bank like any old bank on the corner. Yet you'll never find out who the share holders are and can't be audited. And president is handed a list made by the federal reserve of candidates whom they want to be at the helm of the bank. The person thats usually ex ceo of goldman sachs, the masters geneticists of toxic assets. One of the last heads of the federal reserve Henry paulson was ceo of goldman sachs for a while sold his goldman sachs shares for over 2 billion dollars TAX FREE also. He passed the 700 billion bailout and then passed the news to congress because he didn't need there permission. That's how much power that has been given to this privately owned entity and were all just accept it. Huge tangent i know companies and organizations have really caught on to the fact that we all seem to mindless lemmings willing to be herded around like cows told what to eat and led to the slaughter after there done with us.
the strange thing is me and so many people i know are completely happy and satisfied with our xbox 360s new games are still coming out. games are still fun i am in no way shape or form ready even stray away from it to get a new system i could care less. my biggest fear is where does it end? is chevy going to go after used car dealerships? is hollywood going to go after disc replay for selling used discs?
i know some pc games you cant even play campaign by yourself offline, you always have to be connected to the internet. that is stupid, what if you dont have the internet or the internet goes down for whatever reason then you cant even play solo? farcry 3 did this to me once, the servers were down and i couldnt load past the front screen cause it kept trying to connect. i couldnt log out of xbox live without unlogging out of my gamer tag. so stupid.
just have to wait and see i guess
It's headed towards a dark palace for sure like advert forced on gamers, soon you'll have ads popping up on games like YouTube . The actuaql patient explained xbox 720 has Kinect built in and says it will scan to see who's playing and if there not the one person who purchase and installed the game it won't play.
I guarantee if they really pull all the crap the RUMORS state, the future for gaming will be bleak and hopeless, kinda like the old church in europe during the DARK AGES!!!
Neither company MS, or Sony, will make any money if they are going to try and screw over their customers just because they think they can get away with it. Have they thought about all the people they would put out of business by getting rid of used games? What about going to a friends house with your copy the game? No internet? Are you telling me the console i would probably pay a high dollar amount for, wouldn't work at all if i deployed overseas with it and had no internet?
What about people that can't afford, can't get high speed broadband?
Honestly, i see it all as rumors, blizzard killed D3 with of many other things, DRM requirement, and that was just a single game that put a huge hole in their credibility, can you imagine the uproar if MS and Sony tried to do this to EVERY game? Justin Bieber CD's would get better, faster than these consoles would be bought.
While it does sound like something MS and Sony would do, it is all just a rumor at this point. I have to agree with this post.Originally Posted by jdkzombie Go to original post
We all have to remember, Sony and MS are competitors. Right now, they will throw anything out there to see if the other one will latch on and actually implement it. They know that if one company adds the internet only requirement, many people will buy the other system.
I think for this next gen, we will continue to see the "online pass" but with more games, not just for Multiplayer so the dev's continue to get their profit from used games. The internet just isn't where it needs to be for an internet required console.
Rumors, that's all that needs to be said. We'll just have to wait until everything is actually announced or released.
We also have to consider the patent war right now that's primarily happening with the communications devices. It seems like the tech companies are in a mad rush to patent anything they can. Look at apple for instance they came in the cell game later than most of the other companies and yet there suing the likes of htc, samsung, just their phones can multitask or run more than one app at a time. That's how gangster things are getting and I still wouldn't be surprised if some of that absurdity came our way, let's hope apple never enters the gaming arena. But what I am hearing now is that when you put a used game into the next gen console you will be prompted to pay a pay to play fee because it has identified the disc to used or linked to another console. Us poor saps will agree to this during the initial setup.
We'll have to agree with it if it's the way they're headed.
But we can agree on how many video games we buy, meaning less money for these greedy turds in the long run. Making smart decisions on what games are truly worth the money to you is what should be important, and not just for the next gen, that stands now as well. People will just have to learn that buying games just for pre-order incentives is not that smart of a decision.
Too bad that the catholic church is still the most valuable business in the world. After 2000 years, the value of its belongings are so immense they are not even quantifiable... and they still have a very strong influence over most of the world. Even countries that are educated and technologically advanced, still go to church and believe in their fairy tale god, stories made up 2000 years ago to control the masses. They are so radically planted in our brains, that even just trying to reason about it makes most people annoyed... questioning people going to church is still deemed ''irrespectful'' (to me it is irrespectful that churches still exist). Even after many many centuries of ruthless tortures, wars, ecc ecc... most people still ''respect'' these institutions and believe in them. So you think people will change, believe me it's hopeless...Originally Posted by jdkzombie Go to original post
Lol yes i agree, but we had better not continue this discussion further unless the mods lock this thread.
On topic; I can see where the patent war would be getting out of hand, seeing as there is already a Android powered console, i wonder how long before apple releases a console and tries to sue MS and Sony for stealing their ideas that apple had rightfully stolen after they were made?
Despite the rumor game, the one thing that does make sense, is the throwing around of this rumor in particular, as people who research will flock in droves to the console that doesn't pull this tomfoolery. So i see it as nothing more than a PR stunt in reverse. A rumor created by the companies about each other in order to breed doubt in the companies fans. Nobody spends 700 on a console or 1200 on a pc gaming rig that has a 50% chance of being good. ( it was an analogy lol )
The fact that it is hopeless makes me wonder what the motivation to even try is. I hope there is some massive natural disaster or nuclear or biological war just to wipe our pathetic greedy species off the planet. everything good and productive we could do has taken a backseat to greed and corruption to the point where a meaningless valueless dollar amount is more important than the well being of this planet and every living thing on it. The scumbags with the most power and influence would see thousands die for a dollar gained. This is completely off topic but at the same time its not so f*ck it.
