Ironic that I am stuck at this point too ... having to listen to Voss tell me over and over and over and over again the definition of insanity while I try over and over and over again to get past this one god**** section of the game ... I have tried it starting exactly the split second the promt comes up and in time with the flashing of the "space" prompt ... over and over and over again ... I have tried holding the space bar, mashing it as fast as I can, ignoring it entirely and just watching Jason die, mashing it starting during the fall, etc., etc., etc. ... pretty much every possible way to do it, and ... nothing changes ... it is defiantly insanity, and the most stupid and exasperating part of FC3 ... the knife fight with Buck was somewhat like this, but no where near as frustrating.Originally Posted by rcole_sooner Go to original post
FFS, please see to it that the person responsible for this aspect of gameplay never gets anywhere near a game development team ever again.
Maybe 30 to 40 tries now ... I am doing laundry and dishes while voss prattles on ... I am actually running FC3 in the background while I type this reply ... just gonna watch Jason die this time because as we all know, and as I have had ingrained into me over and over and over by Voss's dialogue, the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Jeez, I want to like this game, I really do, and I have tried so hard because it's great in so many ways. But having been an avid FC, FC2 player and loving the franchise so much, I have to say, with all sincerity, this game fails in so many ways compared to the earlier efforts. And this is one of those ways. EVEN IF, even if the point of this depressing and frustrating aspect of the game is to hit the space bar at the exact start of the prompt and in exact time with it, wtf sort of gameplay is that???
Oh look, 5 more tries while typing this response, no difference. Yep, the definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I get it. I guess this is as far as I go in the game because this part of it, the best cut scene followed by the stupidest ****ing thing I have ever seen in any video game has taught me that its just a game ... nothing more ... I can't lose myself in it because some asinine part of the GAME always brings me back to reality.
I am just going to let it run in a loop ... over and over and over and over ... Voss prattling on, Jason dying over and over all night while I sleep ... and in the morning nothing will be different. Great game guys. ****ing love it!!!!
OMG!!! I figured it out!!!! Play the space bar like a drummer on acid! Just use both hands and stiff arms and go as absolutely as fast as you can and viola!
It's either that, or there is a default that just lets you get past it after 50 tries or so ...
Whatever. Stupidest ****ing thing ever in any video game in history, and especially pathetic in a game that should be the best game ever.
Either way, I got all my laundry and dishes done while waiting thru the Voss dialogue to try the space bar whammy, so all is not lost.
Nope. Changed nothing. All default settings, keys, graphics, everything, first run thru. Even have a decent kybd that never seems to miss any tap anywhere. I dunno what it might be. If I do ever bother to play thru FC3 again, I'll see how it goes next time, but I will start with the "2 handed as fast as possible tap dance on the space bar" approach.Originally Posted by ToLaukka Go to original post
