Ok so, I really feel like getting my maps to be played online is becoming near to impossible to have happen. The only way you can get your maps played is if you by luck have your map become boomingly popular... Why can't we just actually create a "PUBLIC MATCH" which then creates a lobby to pull in players who queue up for a playlist such as: Player Map Lobbies?
Anyways this is my only problem with Ubisoft, other than their horrible matchmaking service.....
Please reply to this post and keep it up top, we need creative ideas posted in here and support to the players so that Ubisoft may listen to us and create an easier way for us to play our maps online.
If they haven't listened to us by know, I doubt this thread is going to get their attention man. Take a second to look around the forums, this has been a HUGE community issue for some time now. Youre better off posting in one of the more popular threads on the subject. One thread with many replies is more likely to grab attention than tons of these single posts about the topic. Though, I'm sure Ubi is well aware of our concerns and just not giving and ****
I (and basically every other mapper) agree.
As I've said before on the forums, map makers (the people who keep Farcry's multiplayer alive) have been served a huge slap in the face by completely screwing up the match making system. Now, when someone puts out a great map that they've spent days on, it's simply "released into the wild" like some kind of terrible parent releasing their child into the woods and hoping everything will be ok. You never get to "see" that map again, play on that map with strangers/full lobbies, or know exactly when it'll be played in the terrible rotation system by strangers.
I've seen decent maps published on day one that STILL haven't received a single play. What a terrible system! Farcry 2's match making system was perfect for Farcry! You could browse lobbies, and join "servers" that you KNEW hosted good maps and good games. You could also search for maps/matches based on multiple criteria, and play exactly the kind of maps/matches you wanted to. It was literally perfect! You can't try to force an attempt at the same system other titles like CoD use for MP matchmaking onto Farcry! They are NOT Farcry! They don't have custom maps or a creative community offering multiple ways to play the game. It just won't work out! (obviously, just look at this game!)
They should make a new playlist where the only maps that are played are the ones made by people in the lobby. There could be a turn system where the guy who gets picked chooses one of his maps and that is the one that is played. Then when the match ends a new person is picked and one of his maps is played and the process repeates. This way people with no friends who own Far Cry 3 will be able to play their maps and see how it plays with real people and improve it, testing maps with AI doesn't realy help since they just walk around the area they are put in and don't use any custom things in the map. Also this will make maps less likely to just get lost in the bronze map lobby and never get played.

Wow this post has had some brilliant posters on it... Thank you so much for the feedback guys, hopefully Ubisoft will check this out randomly and read your comments. I agree fully with almost everything said above, they need to bring back FC2 MP set up. I only played FC2 a few times at my friends house but it was an awesome experience to join in a lobby that was know to be good maps and play on brand new kick a** maps! I'll research more into how I can get Ubisofts attention without taking a hostile approach... But for now, enjoy Multiplayer and hope to see your mapsPost them here with your ideas so that we can have good discussion and get each others maps around... Mine are under the Filter of (GXE) and my other map (Stranded v01) hope you guys will post your maps here so i can tell my friends about them! I have a FC3 only account so all the players on my friends list have FC3, so they love to see new maps
Add me on XBOX too!!
(GXE Gaming)
We read most (nearly all) of the threads on the boards. But we can't issue statements on extremely short notice, the reason being; We have to check and verify the content of our messages, to ensure we don't say anything that might be wrong.
However: Check the dev thread within the next 24 hours for some very interesting news![]()
I hope Vextor's post is not empty air.
We played on Sunday and the whole Idea of having to completely quit the game, all the way back to the XBOX dashboard, restart, and then WAIT for an invite, so that you can attempt to join the game and hope you can communicate or not get dropped, has reached a frustrating level.
Even being in Party chat with your friends, either in the game or in general, interferes with the Lobby system as it sits.
Even Halo and COD do not try to -reinvent- the lobby system with each new release. They improve on what has already been proven to work.
FC2 hell, even Predator, had a superior system.
So please bring it back.
Also, I read the reasons for leaving vehicles out of MP in the dev thread.
What a load of crap. Go back to Predator where we had literally hundreds of maps that worked around vehicles. These were not big open expanses where you could not travel around. These were tight focused maps with plenty of movement to them. Even the broken vehicles on FC2 were used in many maps. We do not need all of the vehicles. Just the Technicals, Transport truck, ATV and Jet ski. Hell even a couple of boats would be nice.
We like to create assault maps or Tower control type maps, that use vehicles.
Find a way to include limited vehicles.
