why can't we have our beloved FC2 map back?

The realtime in-your-hands map from FC2 was perfect, I'll never understand why they dropped this feature

Yeah I find the whole menu system of this game to be very cumbersome and a massive turn off...

The game play is great but what on earth made them go with such an awful menu/inventory/crafting/map interface? That, I have no idea.

It's like they don't even care to make a better game than the **** that other publishers milk out every year. If I was a game designer I would do everything I could to make my game the best experience out there!

The only thing I can think of is the fast travel feature, but I'm sure they get payed enough to come with an alternative to that. FC2 had fast travel, you had to catch a bus lol

I think I`m in the smal minority that actually like the new map system. The fc2 gps was neat at first but got old real fast. I would rather stalk around with gun drawn paying more attention to all the detail then be stuck staring a big handheld map that blocks the majority of screen out. I thought it was an immersive feature at first but after awhile it just became cumbersome and annoying to keep my gps in hand constantly becauase you are looking for diamonds and trying to find your way. Now I can just set a waypoint in the direction I wish to head in and not be worried about having to look at my map every 20 seconds to see if I missed a diamond or am heading in the right direction. Maybe someeone could make a gps mod using some of the assets from fc2 for the people that liked that system. The handheld unit is allready in fc3. Would just need someone to look through the fc2 files and see if they can replicate the way the map system worked there.
