You should have had a verbal warning from Sam and a game pop up too before starting the card game with Hoyt. It says something like: "Are you sure you want to continue as all free roam will be suspended until after the game is over." Something like that.
If you haven't got that far, there is a mission that lets you into Hoyt's HQ and you can go stealing them then - this would be after you take photos of the traitors.
The warning simply comes up to inform you that free-roaming and changing equipment is somewhat restricted during the following missions, but it has nothing to do with any loot chests being available only for a short period of time and becoming inaccessible thereafter.Originally Posted by MeanElf Go to original post
There are quite a few places, where inaccessible loot chests remain after the end of the game, if you didn't collect them when you had the opportunity to do so (for example the one in the building where you fight Vaas or the three chests in the bunker, where you have to destroy the satellite dish), and the game never warns you about this.
That's my point, after the endgame, you won't be able to get into Hoyt's HQ - the warning is the final cut off point, but true, you won't be getting into a few places and there were no warnings. You can get into the temple via the sea - but they're only loot chests, not relics or anything important.
The same for Citra's temple....i still have a treasure inside the temple, i can see it....but can not get in to get it because no that i finish the campaign, all entries for the Citra's Temple are locked.....that is veeerryyy stupid.....why lock buildings anyway, they should all still open after the game is done.....
Go to 2:00 minute you will see the treasure it's behind the locked door.....
Like I say, you can get into the temple from the sea - takes a bit of jumping and such but you can get onto the altar island and after that over the bridge. You could probably hang glide to it too...
The others such as the comms base were blown up by yourself, so it's sort of fair to have rubble blocking the path.
