Check out my original post on Reddit here.
As I went through Far Cry 3's single player a fifth time, I gathered gamesave files for each individual mission for whoever wants to replay missions without playing through the entire single player again *cough* *cough* "Kick The Hornet's Nest".
Make sure to back up any gamesaves you don't want to lose before placing these in your gamesaves folder.
Instructions
1. Shut down Far Cry 3 if it's currently running.
2. Visit the folder below.
3. C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\"some random set of characters"\46
4. Move any files in this folder elsewhere.
5. Download desired mission save.
6. Unzip at the folder given in step 3.
7. Start Far Cry 3 and at the main menu click on "Story", click on "Load Game", then mouse over the options given. Select whichever option is the mission you downloaded, load it up, and play.

I'm not familiar with the Steam version. I thought it was the same as the version purchased directly from Uplay. Isn't it? It'd be great if you could check the location given in the directions and tell me if there's any save files located there. If not there, then could you give me the location for the Steam version and the format the save files are in?Originally Posted by SilentSoloder Go to original post
Edit: From what I've been looking at, it looks like Uplay contains the save files for both their version and the Steam version. Seeing as how the Steam version launches Uplay anyways, this doesn't surprise me at all. All Steam does is track your game time and inform friends that you're not playing a non-Steam game, despite the fact that it kinda is.
Please reply back whether it works or not. I haven't heard confirmation from anybody that these actually work. I'm really worried at this point. :/Originally Posted by PablowTwo Go to original post
No, doesn't work. I believe you saved the wrong files. I think the main mission saves are the ones starting with the numbers 1, 2 and 3, corresponding to your first, second and third play through of the game, and the higher number saves are just data related to your current status during each mission. For example, "The Social Club" saves I downloaded contained two files with file names beginning with "5", and were way too small (30K and 1K) to be mission saves.
They also would not work at all when installed alone, as only NEW GAME was available (no CONTINUE or LOAD GAME). Adding back in my two mission save files beginning with number 1 gave me back those load options, but picking either just brought me to a spot on the map near one of the radio towers and with no game mission present. Fast traveling to Dr. Earnhartd's house and going to the cave just found it blocked by boulders (no access).
The save files beginning with "5" are the autosaves, and all work for me even with cloud sharing off, so I'm confused right now. I don't understand how they're working for me, but not you guys. The "1" "2" and "3" saves are manual saves, whereas the "5" is an autosave. With most of the missions, it's impossible to get a manual save in until the mission is over, or about halfway through, which is why I relied entirely on the autosaves. I'm beginning to think that with the change Ubisoft made to the gamesaves recently, we're unable to share them now. I don't know how they're account bound, but nobody's gotten them to work so far, and I've tested them all, online and offline.Originally Posted by PablowTwo Go to original post
This is unfortunate... Thanks Ubisoft.
Edit: Also, I don't know how large you expected save files to be, but these aren't small saves at all. They're tracking your progress, nothing more, nothing less. Everything else is in-game already.
I guess some people discovered these save files were encrypted and needed some adjusting in order to get them to work properly? Can any of those people speak up and help everyone else out? I'll gladly credit you when I add that bit to the instructions for those who REALLY want to replay a mission or are stuck and need a gamesave.
