How the hell should i connect to the Far Cry 3 servers? Tried virtually everything, changing my password, uninstall stuff i actually need, like Hamachi etc. But i get this message for a week now without any changes. No matter when, no matter what - there is no online playing for me. Do actually someone has a solution for this annoying problem?
Taken from UbiSoft's instructions on Launcher problems -
1. Start by updating any anti-virus or personal firewall software that may be installed to your computer system. This includes your windows firewall as well as updating the firmware for your home router. If updating these programs does not resolve the issue, you may need to temporarily shut-down the associated program or bypass the router and establish a direct connection to your modem.
2. If it is not possible to shut-down your firewall, you will need to configure your router or firewall to allow the following network ports for the best possible connection:
Single Player
TCP: 80, 443
UDP: 3074
Multiplayer
TCP: 80, 443
UDP: 3074
Uplay Launcher
TCP: 80, 443, 13000, 14000, 14008
Directions for configuring network ports are specific to the software and hardware being used, and can be found by visiting the manufacturers website.
3. You may also encounter problems due to applications running in the background on your computer system. When playing Ubisoft games, please be sure to close all running background applications before starting your game. You can find the steps for this listed below.
- Open your start menu and look for Run (Win XP), Start search (Win Vista), or Search programs and files (Win 7)
- Delete anything on the Open line that you'll find there, and type in the word MSCONFIG and press the Enter key to bring up the system configuration utility
- Look down the list of startup items (not the tab labeled Startup), and choose Selective Startup (if it is not already selected) (If you don't see this, make sure you've clicked on General, near the top of the window)
- Once you've chosen Selective Startup, uncheck 'Load Startup Items'
- Once you're done here, click Apply & OK, and let it reboot your computer
Try running the game again. If the game loads and seems to be working, the problem is most likely related to one or more programs you have scheduled to load with Windows. You can then revert the settings back the way they were, and in a trial and error fashion, disable some programs using the startup tab (in the msconfig utility) to try to find the culprit.
Glad you think no one can read forums or directions, ALL of these have been tried by many, myself included...wrong, nothing listed here is the actual issue. I have one of 2 possibilities... 1) Literally hundreds of posts are claiming their accounts have been hacked through - account names AND passwords (many randomly generated / strong) changed, with no prior confirmations having been sent to account owners. This alludes to someone AT Uplay passing information to what appears to be a Russian (from what the posts are saying about where they received change E-mails from) hacking site. Given they are intent to either damage Uplay or discredit them, it seems logical they may have sabotaged their servers or account accesses to them. 2) I also seem to have noticed most (if not ALL) posts relating to an inablility to enter MP or Co-op servers are coming from "Junior Members". This may be that Uplay is actually barring some of these accounts from access to save server space / resources. EITHER offense by Ubisoft / Uplay is intolerable. I would urge that unless postings are made relatively soon BY Ubisoft / Uplay definitevly stating there is a problem in existence and thier intended remedies and expected timespans to implement them, that users seek reimbursement through thier state's Attorney General's offices, and report these matters to BBB.com. Regardless of what is told you, if you do NOT have access to use an item as intended - FEDERAL and STATE law supercedes any return policy of any company...period.Originally Posted by Korian73 Go to original post
I have a feeling that this is caused because of UPlay. I mean really even if it isn't, why do we need that thing if we got it through steam? Does Ubisoft need a program like that to compete with Steam or even Origin? Do I really need to normally play the game through UPlay so I can unlock those "AWESOME" points to unlock content that nobody really uses anyway? Just make it one or the other, not both steam and uplay god **** it.
