    Hello!

    Was wondering if anyone could enlighten me to the differences between the 109G models, specificaly the G-6. Perhaps handling, power etc.

    Technically the G6 early 1943 is the worst of Me109.

    later G's had more powerful guns and engines. They didn't turn as well because of the added weight. The G-2 is the best turner while the G-10/14 climb the best and are the fastest but don't turn as well. G-6 is a G-2 with better guns and slight increase in horsepower(more armor also IIRC). Late G-6 has a wooden tail to save on aluminum(no perofrmance difference that I can tell in game. G-6/AS has uprated engine with overboost for better high alt performance.

    Take into account that I don't fly 109's much because of the touchy engine. I'm sure that one of the 109 guru's will chime in here and correct any of my errors.

    Hi, I fly the G6/AS. For me it's the best turning G6. It's the only G6 with the boost and available Mk108. But forward view isn't as good as the other G6 models. Also, some prefer the earlier G6s due to lighter airframe, resulting in a bit more agility.

    Also, I find the G6/AS engine to be the most durable in FB. It would let you go above 3000 rpm for a while without overheating. Even if you get the overheat warning, open the radiator flaps to 4 and keep rpm at or under 3000. That'll give you another 3-4 minutes of continuous use, no problem. Ofcourse it would have to be in an emergency situation.

    There is a difference between the G-6 and G-6 Late, the late is slightly faster at all altitudes. Not so much that you notice, but it is
    probably 3 or 4 Kph faster.

    the G6 was the logical devolopment for the changes in aircombat. More firepower and a strengh gear for the bad airfields in russia.
    Many people think the G6 was a lot heavier than the G2, this is simply not correct- they take a look at the max take off weigth and think, wow such more weight?? But the only increase was the 13mm MGs and the new gear (no amour!!) But this new gear allowed(!) to take off with a heavier plane!

    The late G6 has some aerodynamical improvements, the tall tail which fixed some highspeed problems, and the new canopy with less drag...
