Hey guys, sorry to make a new thread but I've been trying to solve this for 8+ hours now and can't find anything.
So Far Cry 3 runs just fine, great, actually. Except I get giant black squares everywhere on my screen at all times. They seem to be tethered to objects. Like, if I look at a house, I can see a dark black square over the whole structure, but this square also pops out if I move around and goes through objects, so even if I'm in the jungle I will still see 3+ giant black squares everywhere I go just from structures way off in the distance. It's basically unplayable.
I've tried updating catalyst drivers as well as switching to dx9 to no avail. I can't find any settings in-game that change this at all.
PLEASE someone tell me there is a solution that has been found for this :/
Hey, I get this same problem on my HD 7690m xt (Laptop card) and was also wondering why this is happening,
For an example click below.

I had the same issue on a 7670m with switchable graphics and the Steam version of Far Cry. Strangely the thing that fixed it for me was to verify integrity of game files. 1 file was re-downloaded and it reinstalled UPlay and the black boxes were gone, but only in DX9 mode. If I switched to DX11 the boxes would return, and I'd have to verify again to get rid of them.
If you don't have the steam version then perhaps a complete reinstall of everything including UPlay might do the same.
thanks for the tip. i'll have to try this and report backOriginally Posted by CheesyWeasel Go to original post
