Can we disable automatic downloading of patches in Far Cry 3?

My ISP account limits my download/uploads to 5 GB per month. It seems every time I open Far Cry 3 it wants to download some gigantic patch and it's eating away at my limit like crazy. Is there an option to choose if and when to accept the patches? I can't find one.

If there is no built-in control on this, can anyone suggest any work-arounds?

Thanks Viragoxv535, I will give that a try.

Can't believe there is no in-game control on this!

Yeah, another thing I hate about UPLAY. Not only do I have to be online, and the server has to be online, but now I am constantly downloading and installing patches. What if I just want to.....you know, play the game? I don't have a lot of free time, so when I get an hour to sneak away and play a game, I would like to actually play it. 3 of the last 4 times I have gotten a chance to play FC3, I boot it up just to see that I am forced to download some stupid huge patch to play. I can't tell you how many hours I have spent downloading and installing crap to make this game work. Please UBI, if you want to keep customers, make this crap optional!!!

It would be so simple to have an option to download patch now or remind me in XX days, oh wait that would require a programmer to work
