Yea but there are more games coming out that have new engines, etc; and they don't work well with Win8. That includes games that are still in beta. A simple search on google will show that all the new games aren't working well with win8. Also Win7 is out performing win8 with almost all games.

I don't think this problem is specific to Windows 8. I've seen tons of people who are having the same problem as I am and are running Windows 7. I've also seen a few benchmark tests, and win7 and win8 are performing almost identically.

Well I can't even get it to start now in windows 7 64 bit.

When I originally installed there was no problem getting into the game but the game would have extremely long loading times, freezing the entire pc for periods at a time with a looping sound. Eg. a 3rd loadscreen problem. I would ultimately have to end the game forcibly via taskmanager.

I could some of the time workaround this by, among other things, run with processor affinity set to 1 core and resave the game.

Then I could load the game normally, the savegame normally, untill some random number of autoload later or any other random thing happened and any load would start the same load freezes.

So I think there is something finicky about multithreading on windows 7 and dx9 (which is all my card supports) as well.

Reinstalling the game only made the problem "worse" since now the computer starts freezing at the first load screen and I can't work around this problem at all.

Turning on hardware DEP support in bios is the only thing thats had any effect. It made the freezes alot shorter (they're still there) but ultimately still crashes the game.

In-game, settings, there you can set DirectX to 9 and 11.

I was able to run FarCry3.exe, despite the problem with Uplay and request activation key. For this to work, I had to crack the **** game, so I would run the game without opening the Uplay. BUT ... did not work! Even using the color settings that can be modified in the compatibility tab. I tested the other executable file of the game, cracked and without Uplay and color settings indicated that our friend, but it still fails, the black screen keeps showing up crashing the game or making my GPU stop working and constantly returning to game.

I Do Not Recommend Affinity this game to 1 core as it requires atleast 2cores to run properly. Have you tried any of the fixes posted in the first post of this thread?

I Do NOT recommended using a USB3.0 drive as a games drive because it runs slower then E-sata and sata2/3. Also The cache and buffer rate is slower. Thus it can cause game instabilities such as frame skipping, missing textures and objects; to even worse game crashing and many other issues.

I Don't suggest or condone bypassing the DRM by cracking the game. Because you did that I can no longer help you farther....

EternalCore, It's ok if you cant help me anymore. I have the original game, this was just a test... Uninstalled and installed the game again and nothing works, I give up, realy. I'm playing my BF3 on high with great FPS, MoH Warfighter and may other heavy games. My probelm is, why many other games run perfectly and this game not? I will wait for a new patch or a oficial AMD driver, maybe I can play in the future. But if you change your maind and keep helping me, I will very pleased. Anyway, thank you for all thoses informations, you are great guy. Cya.

Ah there's your problem right there... AMD has really messed up with the FX CPU's as the late Models of the Phenom II's(Which is what I still have) out perform the FX CPU's in every way possible. If you do a simple search on any game with the AMD FX CPU's you'll see that everyone who has one is encountering major issues with gaming on that CPU....
