FC3 only launches in safe mode. Everything else freezes, refuses to launch, or immediately goes to the after game report. None of the solutions work.

lol this is ridiculous. Give me my money back UPlay.

I go to launch the game from UPlay, it loads for a second, and then the post-game "Thank you for playing Far Cry 3" screen pops up and it says something like "Played time: 0 minutes"

I'm using a HP Pavilion M6 Notebook PC, with a Intel (R)Core (TM) i5 processor 2.5 GHz , RAM 4 GB , 64 bit operating system. Far Cry 3 was running fine initially. Now a days, in the middle of the game, it unusually slows down & come to a stand still with a message that, the game has been stopped unfortunately ...what 2 do ?

    my system is:
    I7-2700K
    Geforce GTX770OC
    8GB-RAM
    Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

Im just really pissed right now. First of all i wasnt able to create an uplay-account for hours. Then FarCry doesnt work and I tried anything suggested here which did not include the GameProfile.xml because i don't even have one because the game didn't start once. And now I am not even able to contact the support because it reports a technical issue. For god's sake people. Is anything working here??? And why aren't you able to find a solution in 7 months???

Your best bet is just to move your game folder to C:\ (assuming you don't have windows installed on a removable device). I can't believe they still haven't patched this issue with any of other games (assassin creed does the same thing). BTW OP your instructions suck.
    WOW
This totally works!!! Please put it on page 1 to the solutions

Well I just wanted to say I've given this game a try, first checkpoint is all i get before a farcry3_d3dll.exe crash thereafter. Checked the forums and basically found its an ongoing unresolved/no response problem with Farcry3. Pretty game, would have liked to play it - but I don't have the time to fiddle with basically a programmed piece of garbage.

For those that have the slightest interest in establishing some common factors regarding the repetitive/relentless farcry3_d3d11.exe crashs, here is some info on my situation:

Crash instances: Passing through certain doors, looking through loot inventory, passing through certain bushes (totally random and arbitrary? who knows).

OS: Win 7 Pro 64 bit SP1, all the aforementioned MS updates installed/Net 4.0/4.5/dx9.0c/etc.
    Mobo/CPU/Mem/Storage: ASUS P6T dlx v2/XEON W3580/3x2mb OCZ3P1600LV2G/1x 120gb SSD (boot drive) 1x1TB ST100DM0031CH162 (program install/user drive) 1x 1TB ST31000528AS (storage).
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 SC ACX/Geforce 320.49 WHQL driver
    GPU Utilities/Overclocking setup: Precision X 4.2; Successfully tested/benchmarked on Futuremark3D advanced/Unigen Valley 1.0/Heaven 4.0 with following oc -
-> +106 power target, 79 temp target (priority power, unlinked w/ temp @ default), +64 GPU Clk offset, +274 mem offset, Fan Auto (curve set for 100% @ 70c)
Additional OC comments: Game still crashes with default clock settings and no Precision (or other hook apps) running.

Summary: Tried all forum fixes to date.. still crashes. I will try maybe a couple more other "fixes" but if that don't work I'm done. I will pass the word for people to not bother wasting their time with FarCry3... it is way way too crash prone.

had the same problem for several months, and pretty much gave up on fixing it

I tried all the solutions in this thread and nothing seemed to work

what finally fixed things for me was verifying the game files through steam (right click in steam -> properties -> local files tab -> verify integrity of game cache)

three files needed to be redownloaded and it took less than a minute. game launches and runs perfectly fine now. no idea what caused the problem, I had played for ~20 hours before it randomly stopped being able to launch

Everytime I try to play the game after about 1-2 minutes I get a notice saying AMD display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered. I got the game for free when I purchased my Asus HD 7770 series Graphics card which I have only had in my PC for 4 days, I havn't overclocked and it isn't over heating. I have installed all new drivers and I have ran Windows Update and still i get the same notice, this is the ONLY game it happens on, I play World of Warcraft on high / ultra graphics at 50 fps and blacklight retribution on max settings at also 50 fps, Far cry 3 is the only game this notice comes up for, I have tried more or less everything to my knowledge I am more or less tearing my hair out about this problem because I have always wanted to play the game and I am not going to resort to playing playstation or Xbox. Any help would be greatly apriciated, Many thanks for any help you may be able to give me.
