This thread is to help people fix their FC3 game from the Major issues that plague it and that's why I was bumping it.
Since it is such a helpful thread Steam forums already pinned the redirect to here.
So is it possible to Pin/Sticky this thread to help new players fix their FC3 game so that they can actually play it? If so Then I will gladly stop bumping it, otherwise if I stop bumping it then new players won't be able to find it to fix their game and they will most likely get a refund due to frustrations and or write new threads to get help and get none...
Thanks for your time -EternalCore
Better yet is it possible for Ubi to fix the game already? I ran it fine until I upgraded and now it crashes on launch, tried every single trick in the thread and nothing..
Brand new computer, clean install of Windows 8, all drivers up to date.. every other one of my 300+ steam games working without flaw...
guess they want to tell me it's something with my computer and not the game?
I Recommend going back to Windows 7 because this and many other new games aren't working on Win8... Oh and game devs are dropping support for Win8 due to reoccurring issues that keep looping each-other...Originally Posted by Misfit410 Go to original post

it must be Windows 8, which is why the other 3 gaming machines in my household running windows 8 run this game with no issue.
Maybe it's because I have an AMD card, even though 2 of those 3 machines have AMD cards.
this has nothing to do with Windows 8 and everything to do with the shoddy programming of Ubisoft, and no developers are not pulling support from Windows 8.
If you don't believe me then feel free to google it for your self and if you read this whole thread you will see that most of it is users with win8 who can't run this game, then when they switch back to win7 the game runs flawlessly.Originally Posted by Misfit410 Go to original post
Btw I know what I'm talking about and I didn't make anything up, except for the Help I offer; Which has helped tons of people already.
P.S. Arguing with the OP aka me, who has contributed hours and hours of support for this game, is never a good idea especially when I have over 20yrs of experience and training and when I have tested every scenario for this game to fix it all.

if 8 were the issue why does the game work on every other computer I own running 8?
and no developers are not dropping 8 because of issues, Valve has said 8 is bad for gamers because MS included GFWL in it and they fear MS is going to try to push all software to go to it's new appstore, it has nothing to do with issues with Windows 8.
Your being the OP does not mean you are not talking out of your rear on that one.
the issue is not the OS, it's this game, if it were the OS I'd not be able to play every other game on the planet without flaw.. there is pretty much not a single major or indy game I don't own, and they all run.
*edit* and I found the issue and resolved it, it's the game, it does not like data being pooled with storage spaces which has been around for years in home server, let's all blame storage spaces rather than the only game on the planet that does not like working on it.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I currently am running Windows 8 and after trying all of the fixes in this thread (including replacing RAM), I still immediately crash on start-up with various dll errors "MSVCR100.dll, FC3.dll" and sometimes a referenced memory error. I do have Steam (and thus FarCry 3) installed on my H: storage pool, so I wonder if my issue is similar to yours.*edit* and I found the issue and resolved it, it's the game, it does not like data being pooled with storage spaces which has been around for years in home server, let's all blame storage spaces rather than the only game on the planet that does not like working on it.
What exactly did you do to fix the problem?
And thanks for all of your help, EternalCore. Hopefully we'll get some patches to fix this whole mess.
That makes no sense as I have both the game and uplay on a seprate drive and it works flawlessly. <- I'm using the uplay version on Win7Pro.Originally Posted by Misfit410 Go to original post
Oh and It wouldn't Surprise me if that issue is only on Win8.
Did you try solution 3?Originally Posted by Atlanton Go to original post
I did. Most of them were already installed though and there wasn't an option to repair.Originally Posted by EternalCore Go to original post
