WHY does the problem always come back after PC restart?

That's normal if you already were up to date with them.

Did you install anything new and or enable any overlay software? Try rebooting your pc.

I've got new ram (corsair vengence 16gb), still the same problem as before - nothing happens when I press play from Steam. I've tried all your solutions (1-7), nothing seems to be working, so I'm at a loss now.

Something interesting to note though - the FC3 Editor works and loads fine. It's just the game itself wont :s
Hey Again, As I have updated my solutions since you last looked at them I recommend rereading them again especially Solution 4. And if 4 doesn't work for you then try disabling the Uplay overlay. keep me updated. also Try Setting your memory in your bios to Ganged Mode.

I've tried all the solutions mentioned before and still fails...

I can hear the noise of the graphic card becomes sharper when the game stuck

    Any idea?

    Thanks
Try Solution 4 and 7 to see if that helps getting it to work. But with #7 don't change any settings and try to play in the windowed mode. If you can then it's something you accidentally setup before but if not then it's something else. let me know the results.

    Alright.

    System Specs:
OS : Windows 8 Pro (fully updated including DX and all the programs mentioned in solution 3)
    Processor: AMD Athlon X2 255 @ Stock speed. (3.1Ghz)
RAM: Kingston Standard DDR1333 @ Stock.
    GPU : Galaxy GTX650Ti GC @ Stock
    GPU Driver Version : 310.90
    Game : Bought Via Uplay.

    Problem:
I downloaded the game from uplay and installed it. When I ran it for the first time the updater downloaded the 1.04 update and installed it. After that I ran the game and went to settings and changed them. After that I entered the story mode > New Game > Savegame 1/2/3 > difficulty option. Right after choosing the game difficulty it crashed with the Far Cry 3 has stopped working error.

    Here's the eventvwr log:

The reason why it's crashing for you is because Your computer is NOT Capable of running Directx11. The reason as to why it's not capable is because Your Motherboard, CPU and RAM is to old to handle the performance and power(torque) of directx11.

Your GPU is the only thing worth salvaging from your system. I recommend to get a new computer as all the new games that are coming out won't run on a duel core system.

But If you set the game to Directx9 in the Video options then you should be able to play FC3.

The Processor is Athlon II X2 255 (will soon upgrade it to Phenom II X4 or X6) not the older Athlon and the RAM is DDR3 1333. I know the Processor is not something to talk about but I am playing at 1024x768 and it is capable enough to handle that. I am saying this because it runs all the other latest games just fine. The only game that is making trouble is this. I have already tried DX9 and it's not working.

Edit : Currently I am downloading the pirated version just to check if my PC is capable enough to run it or not.

If dx9 doesn't work then it's still your cpu and ram as that cpu is below the minimum requirements.
You could try solution 5 but I doubt it'll help.

Also 1024x768 is no longer good enough and by playing on that low you're missing allot!

I Play at 1920x1080 with Directx11 and everything on ultra settings with these specs:
OS: Windows 7 64bit Professional Edition
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz + OC'd and tweaked to 3.9GHZ
    RAM: 8GB 2 sets of XMS3 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (TW3X4G1333C9)
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC'd Edition
Monitor: Samsung 27" LED Monitor S27A950D True 120hrz 3DTV Enabled.
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional PCIe
    SSD: Force Series 3 240GB SATA 3 6Gb/s Solid-State Hard Drive
PSU: HX Series HX750 Power Supply 750 Watt 80 PLUS Gold Certified Modular PSU
    And I get 45-72FPS

Minimum required for Far Cry 3 from AMD is "Athlon 6000+" and mine is a generation ahead. Yeah I know the resolution is quite low but I will increase it once I upgrade my Processor to "Phenom II X4" or "Thuban".

    Hello All, especially EternalCore.

I looking for advice about launching problems with Far Cry 3 (Steam version).

First problems was about launching from Steam - this doesn't start FarCry's Uplay... Resolved with creating shotcut for farcry3.exe and adding "-uplay_steam_mode" parameter.
After that I launched proper Uplay and registered game. But still can't launch game from Uplay - after clicking "Play" button in Uplay system shows me "Far Cry 3 has stopped working".
Tried all 7 ways described in this topic - doesn't help.

    Windows 7 x64. AMD HD 6850. AMD Phenom 2 X4 965. 8 Gb RAM Catalyst 12.10/12.11. No overclocking.

    Logs from eventvwr:

Faulting application name: farcry3.exe, version: 0.1.0.1, time stamp: 0x50d1e630

Could anybody help me? Because conversation with Ubi's support (currently in process) is so slow ... I can provide info, gathered by DXDIAG or SAN-TOOL, if this could help (provided to Ubi's support)
    Thank you in advance.
