    I am using Catalyst 12.11 Beta 11.
That explains it... You are using Beta drivers which are unstable and prone to failures such as the ones your having. You can try going back to 12.10 but because AMD is slow with proper driver releases you might just have to wait till the 12.11 Stable comes out to fix the display driver crashing issues.

Before using the beta drivers I was using the 12.10 final release and I was getting the same problem

What Temperatures is your GPU reaching in Celsius while gaming in FC3? Use GPU-Z to get the accurate info.
Also What is your Video & Video Quality Settings set at in FC3?

That's a normal temperature Okay so now we know it's not a heat issue.

Next Since AMD is notorious for making bad drivers follow these simple steps to fix the broken driver issues:
    1. Download and install Driver Fusion(Formerly known as Driver Sweeper) from here: http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion
    2. Select AMD Display under (Maintenance>Driver Inspection) and it should scan for all the AMD driver files on your computer
    3. Check all the boxes for deletion of the AMD display drivers, Then click the delete button(trash can).
    4. Ones all the files are deleted then Reboot your computer.
    5. Then Download the AMD drivers 12.11 Beta from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...w_vista64.aspx
    6. Install the drivers then reboot to finalize the driver install and try your game again.

    Report back here when done

This is ridiculous. I am running into issues with your very first solution. When I change the compatibility settings for "farcry3_d3d11.exe" I receive the following error message which prevents me from even launching the game:

"Failed to execute command: farcry3_d3d11.exe (error 740). Please make sure this executable file exists".

Also, the game is not remembering my saves whatsoever - despite disabling the cloud for uPlay. I have had to sit through the introduction five times today now, and it is becoming irritable. I am guessing that is because the game has crashed every single time I have played it.

Oh and the game even crashes when I exit the game normally.

@sierrascar: yes it is a very buggy game... That error "failed to execute command" is actually a steam DRM error... And to fix it just don't set any settings for the compatibility for "farcry3_d3d11.exe", just leave that part out then launch the game which will pass down the settings from the "farcry3.exe".
