Solution 1:
I did that and i could not even load the game. It went to the 1st little mini box then black screen Far cry 3 has stopped working.
So i undone what i did and i could load it and it went all the way yo what it normally did.
Solution 2(Directx11 Only):
I copied and pasted the code you gave.
"C:\Users\[user name]\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3"
And it says that it can't find the file. Could that be my problem?
I ain't going to go on to the rest has i have no time atm and no want to go on if i have found the problem. But not the fix and one of you people that is good with computers can tell me how.
Ok i got some time and went on the solution 3:
And downloaded the 1st one.And it says choose the location where i want to place the file. I am guessing it is in a farcry 3 file but want more info.1. Directx9c: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=8109
A newer verison of that is already on my computer.2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5555

This setup program requires an IA64 platform. It cannot be installed on this platform.
Check5
Check6 and 7
And after all that i still can't load the game.
I don't know what those are but looking at the programs given are secondly programs people use for recording/chating ingame. I don't use any of those.Solution 4:
1. Disable/Close any Overlay or DirectX Hooking software before launching the game.
I may try this if my 1st question is not answered soon.Solution 6:
Uplay Users:
1A. Uninstall Uplay and FC3 from the "Programs and features" in your "Control Panel"
Solution 7:
Note: This solution will make Far Cry 3 startup with the bare minimum settings which is in windowed mode, using directx 9, with Low gfx settings and with the resolution 1024x768.Neither "C:\Users\[user_name]\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3" nor the step #7 "C:\Users\[user_name]\Documents\My Games\" returns any results.2. Open "GamerProfile.xml" with Notepad or Wordpad. <- if the file doesn't exist jump down to Number 7.
Trying to look though the early posts to see if i could find what a answer but having limited time and 44 pages plus not having a clue what i am doing is can of hard.
I have tried all the suggestions on this forum page, but nothing has helped.
I have uninstalled and re-installed twice, I have re-installed all the microsoft libraries and frameworks, I have run CCleaner and memtest (for 24 hrs).
My system is brand new:
i5 3570 @ 3.5GHz
8 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti
120 GB SSD
Pretty much the only things installed on it is uplay, steam, Skyrim, Team Fortress 2, and star wars battlefront ii.
Is there some diagnostic setting that can trace the problem? I really need this resolved, or I need to get a refund so I can buy something that works.
Just completed the game today after not being able to play more than 15 minutes without a crash even after following the help at the start of this thread. I read on another forum that a nvidia rep was advicing people to go back to the 306.97 drivers and it worked for me, it also sorted out the hardware not found bug from hitman absolution. i have a 560 TI and windows 8.
I have tried all of the solutions on this page ( to the best of my ability - minus the OS reinstall ), I have tried reverting my gfx card drivers, I have tried nvidia inspector, and disabling the administrator approval. I have altered my nvidia gamer profile/graphic settings to match the ones discussed on the second page of this thread.
I can't seem to get Far Cry 3 to start up. Splash opens, as soon as the screen expands it crashes. I am including my system speccs to see if any of the wizards out there can help me play the game, I own it on Steam and own the Deluxe Edition. Below is some DXDiag info that might help someone help me. Thank you

hi, i am using geforce 560 ti (drivers up to date) and i couldn't launch the game at first. it just stopped responding after i clicked the play button on uplay. so i reinstalled my geforce driver (without removing the installed one, i just ran setup again) and the game worked perfectly... untill i restarted pc. it started not responding again. so i reinstalled gpu drivers again and it started working anyone know what may be the cause of this?
thanks
i have did all of that and still the same thing my pc is less then a week old and everthing is up to date here is my pc
http://www.target.com/p/cyberpower-x...Slot=large_1_5
i did up grade my ram to 32 and not the 8 it comes with
thank you for your time.... also all of uplays games that i have are doing this weard thing it will frez up on me and then the game screen will go gray and when i do that alt, ctrl, del it will tell me that the game is not responding.
Thats because ****ty Ubisoft devs don't know how code their programs to work with removable decices or remote storage spaces. I've had the same problem. I tried junction points (using the mklink command) with varying degrees of success.
Your best bet is just to move your game folder to C:\ (assuming you don't have windows installed on a removable device). I can't believe they still haven't patched this issue with any of other games (assassin creed does the same thing). BTW OP your instructions suck.
I can vouch for this,Originally Posted by boller4prez Go to original post
I just tried it and FINALLY AFTER 4 MONTHS OF CRASHING AT THE SPLASH SCREEN the game runs. I had the game installed on my storage drive D:/. However this is very much a temporary solution as I do not have the kind of space on my boot drive to install anything other than the OS. I have contacted support about this and I will report back again if it is fixed.
Eternal you might want to list this as a solution
HI
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE OF THE 7 SOLUTIONS, I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU ARE AWARE, MAYBE THERE ARE OTHERS LIKE ME, WE ARE UNABLE TO READ YOUR WRITING IN THE DIALOGUE BOXES FOR YOUR CODES, THEY SEEM TO BE WRITTEN IN YELLOW AGAINST A WHITE BACKGROUND!!! Should I be wearing 3D GLASSES to read it or what? Thanks for your help!!
