Well then the last resort for you is to buy a new computer or get a refund. Good Luck!Originally Posted by Dimenus88 Go to original post
Well I got past the 1st screen. I re-installed and set to offline mode, then it crashes on creating a new game rather than the 1st loading screen.Originally Posted by EternalCore Go to original post
Note: I am getting CRC errors during the install.
I had the same random "FarCry3.exe has stopped responding" errors at random intervals, just like many of the folks in this thread. I tried all the solutions in the first post, too, and I had no luck. But then I solved it! Far Cry 3 runs fine for me now. I hope the following fix works for others:
I found an older forum thread where someone suggested that you just up your video card's core voltage from 1000 mV to 1100mV. That link references free software to download (MSI Afterburner) and clear instructions. This actually worked for me, and and I haven't seen the problem since.
It kinda makes sense, given that (at least for me) the game ran fine at high settings AND low settings, and the crashes seemed equally random regardless if I disabled Uplay or Steam overlays, played windowed or borderless, or turned various settings on or off. I highly recommend giving this a shot if you're having random black screen crashes.
So now you tell me about the CRC errors.... It would of helped allot sooner!Originally Posted by Dimenus88 Go to original post
So then Uninstall FC3 using Solution 6 and Delete the downloaded files then Run Check disk on all your drives that you're using for the game, especially your windows drive, with this link: http://www.w7forums.com/use-chkdsk-check-disk-t448.html
Except check the box "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors"
Once done then run CCleaner from Step 2-3 on solution 6.
Make sure you have 20GB free to download and install the game.
Disable any firewall and anti-virus software that you're using then redownload Far Cry 3 and install it.
Then run it, patch it and report back.
I'm getting this error
farcry3_d3d11.exe app error
the instruction at 0x5f8b4630 referenced a memory at 0x30120346 the memory could not be read.
win 8 64 bit
gtx 660
all drivers up to date and tried everything in the 7 steps.... even tried the afterburner trick to boost core power...
also just get the black screen crash
That's a RAM issue so Follow the steps of Solution 5 CLOSELY!Originally Posted by joatamos Go to original post
Well I finally fixed my black screen crash problem for Far Cry 3 and other games as well. I have a Zotac 680 Amp card which is factory over clocked. What I did was use Afterburner to set the power limit to %90 and REDUCE the core clock and memory clock by -25. Fixed everything, game runs on ultra settings no problem.
Read and Follow Solution 6 on the 1st post of this thread!Originally Posted by nubon Go to original post
