Thanks so much for this. My game got messed up during a power outage causing a corrupted gamer profile. Solution 7 worked (after I had abandoned all hope). I pasted the correct information posted on solution 7 into my gamer profile found at : C:\Users\[user]\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3.

OS : Window 8 Pro 64 bit

GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 (Use driver 310.90)
RAM : 8 GB
I'm try to setting GFX @ LOW but not work. My problem is system hang with no error massage and when I playing everything work until the crashed happen about 5-10 minute.
