Although games have changed [ EAW was 50 Mb in total size and now games are in thousands of Gbs] the rudeness of many of these forum guys remains static.
I am convinced that many look for trouble and don't look to help.
I have never heard the term Mash before I bought this game, so if anyone has further trouble with that, try and get over it.
Thanks Uncle Bob and a couple of others.
Now, 'Harvest the Jungle"? Picking flowers for over an hour and shooting pigs? Tell me I'm in a dream? I loved Far Cry 1 and Far Cry 2 and couldn't wait for this. Even the distance is a blur unlike the beautiful graphics of the previous two? Who made this?
Start shooting. I am ready.
Dont' assume that just because it's "fine" or works for you that it works for others. I've had a _lot_ of trouble with these even though I spam the **** key like there's no tomorrow. I still have to go through these several times.
If it's no problem then why are there so many topics asking about this in this forum? Maybe it's because some of us don't play on consoles at all and think mashing is something you do to a potato...
I have to agree with you.Originally Posted by Genesizs Go to original post
I mean short of having a f 'in symbol of a space bar and some animation repeatedly pressing it.. I just don't understand how a human being cannot work out how to do it. We build bridges and space stations ... okay not all of us - clearly.
Use your initiative for christ sake.
Yes, potato mashing is similarOriginally Posted by Kangaroo77 Go to original post
For your health restoration it's essential and the timed supply-runs are a nice idea too. Shoot the right animals so you can craft bigger bags and holsters. The concept of the game is great .. just a little overdone and badly explained to a newcomer.Originally Posted by Kangaroo77 Go to original post
switch to ultra display mode (DX11) if your card can handle this - much better graphicsOriginally Posted by Kangaroo77 Go to original post
OP - Ignore these 'special people'. This game was made at the console intelligence level, and unfortunately Ubi forgot what multi-language releases mean. They should have used a localized word, AND they should have had another annoying, but for once, an appropriate popup to explain. This was the Tutorial after all!
Right... Shooting animals to commit Harikari over their corpses, and come away with a skin the size of a person to craft a pouch the size of a fanny pack. But wait, you need more skins to finish that fanny pack. Then you can only put certain stuff in it because filling a fanny pack with ammo is not allowed. Yep, the logic you all claim to have in abundance in figuring out that mash (which can also mean 'to press in a continual action' not Jackhammer which is the best description of the action) seems to have failed you. Did you also think that not being able to loot the vests with pockets from the bandits or the combat webbing from the mercs was also good game making? Good game making would have been to limit the appearance of their gear so as to not lobotomize your immersion.Originally Posted by Butcherbird59 Go to original post
Jackhammering the key does not always work, just as hitting a key once in this game does not always work for some action (jump, trigger flight-suit, etc.). So far the mouse has always worked, but not the keyboard commands. It is not lag, it is just a buggy engine.
Kangaroo77 - Ultra is not a DX11 only setting. Ultra works with DX9, and considering that you get a much higher FPS on DX9 many prefer it. DX11 only has two actual DX11 features that worked after all their promises. The rest were cut from the retail game, so the performance hit is not worth it for most. Set your settings to custom, turn everything to Ultra on DX9 and see how your system handles it. If it is fine, then try moving to DX11 and turning some of them down. Do not reduce PostFX or you will have to drop all the way to Low as the intermediate settings are very buggy. The engine is still not working properly.
Well hold your thought there genius, because reality is only the fiction that you want to believe in and remember it took someone to say lets get people to press this button in order for that command to work.. and when you consider the complications of games these days. .you cant know every little thing straight away. and its obvious that you have logic for the game, though not enough logic to know that you could help people, instead of making feel like they are stupid when all they want to do is experience the game and have fun while playing it like you and everyone else does.Originally Posted by Genesizs Go to original post
Yep, why calling someone stoopid when he can't figure a game?Originally Posted by c0mpute Go to original post
This is just an indication that the game fails to explain fundamental basics!
