Hello Xon2,
Thank you for your feedback. I believe that it is possible to position your avatar in such a way/pose that you can select the empty top corner of the image as your "avatar", effectively meaning you show a white image.
Personally, I just let my daughter create one that she thought looked good and now I largely ignore it; I don't find that it has any impact on my game.
unfortunately i don't got a daugther who can perform that miraculous task. But i still think thats beside the point. Gaming in general and this avatar thing in particular are unimportant luxuries compared to pretty much any issue in life. And it is still annoying like hell when i am being forced to watch this kids representaion everytime i play some ubisoft game. And i spend like 30 minutes trying to get the blank avatar working yesterday! Thats wasted time!!! So, you are not a designer, and u don't make the decision about how this avatar stuff will change. So, have you relayed our annoyance or concerns about it to the design team? All we really ask for is a simple option to be not represented by an avatar at all. That'll be totally sufficient.
Thx and good night
Thank you Xon2 for speaking on behalf of all of us. I too spent an hour trying to figure out a way to get rid of my preset avatar which in my honest opinion, looks very ugly. I just hope Uplay designer listen to the feedback and actually change their policy on this one, just give us the option to choose to use your avatar creator or upload our own. It is so simple, some people like your avatar but there are some who prefer to use their real photo. Please just let us make the decision on our own account
Just bought a download code at the Egg. Promptly went to Uplay and discovered that since I last logged in you geniuses REQUIRE me to select a Mickey Mouse avatar. Let me simplify this for your management. I am not a captive audience. It takes massive resources to create a good game. I want to pay to enjoy a good game. I've never complained about anyone's prices but your micromanaging nonsense stops right here for me. You're going to kill your own industry through stupidity. How can you afford to develop the next game if your current games are pirated not because anyone wants to rip you off but because of your complete lack of respect for your customer? Reminds me of the music business. Look at how all their foolish management decisions and disregard for both their artists and their customers is working out for them. I'm happy I have little invested in Uplay. I won't be back to buy more.
Cordially,
Fish
