Question about the friends leader board

Sorry if this has been answered. I searched for previous posts and found nothing. I'm wondering if someone can explain to me the factors that determine where you land on your friends list leader board? I truly don't care who I'm above or below since they're teammates. But after taking a closer look at it I'm baffled. Every time I think I figure it out I see a stat that proves otherwise.

I checked it before and the default leaderboard lists friends in order of MOST GAMES LOST, this can be changed by selecting the list you want and pressing X (on xbox). You can change it to the other lists but it reverts to most games lost once you leave the leaderboard.

    +1

The thing I hate about attaching an friends to the leaderboard list because it continually compares you to them. Since I'm not a vet mine keeps giving me degrading updates, like

GFS has revived X amount more team mates than you
GFS has X amount more kills than you
GRFS has X amount more data hacks than you

I know it's meant to get teh competitive juices flowing, but if your just starting now, those numbers can seem insulting and insurmountable.
