Personally I feel being abused by this amount of spam but you're right - it's a matter of personal perception

I really don't give a crap about it. I mean yeah, I think it is stupid to have one DRM, STEAM running, then have an entire new DRM, UPLAY, running on TOP OF STEAM. That part is just stupid. I paid for the game on STEAM. STEAM is a working DRM. If people want to hack the game and download the damned game, they will. I think most people who think the game is worth it, will BUY THE GAME, like I did.

Having all these layers of DRM is totally pointless. Does UBI realize that every single game ever has probably been pirated and that there's basically nothing they can do about it? If they realize this, just stop pissing people off with UPLAY BS.

Above all, Make it easy, I SAID MAKE IT EASY, and painless to BUY the game and play it without the UPLAY nonsense. Make it optional. You will have MORE SALES AND LESS PIRACY when the PAYING customer is HAPPY.

Again.. I don't really care either way. I have never had one issue with UPLAY as far as it working correctly, and I have played FC3 single player for 360 hours on STEAM record (probbaly more in real life) and all the people complaining about all the sing-in BS.. I don't know what to say.. I never had one issue.

so I could care about being online. Is it a UPlay setting?
it used to be they offered you a choice to start in offline. Now they dont' but it's still possible. If you unplug your internet connection you will start in 'offline' mode not connected and not have the option of plying coop or multi but can play 'story' ie the game. The program is completely on your computer and does not require the disc to be inserted (i have disc). If you downloaded from steam you downloaded 10gb or so and that is the complete game. the mothership wants to know all your business so next time you go online i believe all your info will be uploaded to the 'cloud' and uplay.
Also it's interesting to note that once youve signed into uplay you can hit task manager and delete uplay from the services running and STILL play coop and multi.

IMHO the best option would have been that all games should have been, by law, required to be interchangeable to every service, or just downloadable (activated once and then done forever). That way I could have picked a service with alot of features, a trimmed down service or nothing at all (other than an activation).

Thats my dream scenario though and wont ever happen.

It's weird that origin forces you to open a webbrowser. I only have mass effect 3 on it and have no problem (I hardly use any of it's features).
That's not feasible to make into a law to begin with due to the fact that it would break down the entire service altogether. While the consumer would initially win on being able to choose their desired platform, the company side would lose because it would deny fair market - which means why have the service? So what would end up happening is that most users like Steam and you just gave Valve a monopoly so that later on if they wanted to implement something you don't like - well tough luck, kid.... who else you going to go through? Uplay, Origin, etc. would disappear because it's not bringing in money to those competitors. Steam would be your only distributor and whenever something would need to be changed for public praise, they could just throw a statement out every time saying that "we're going for this" or "we feel this direction is better."

As far as the Uplay opening web browser.... I mean it sucks to say this but if you download the Uplay service then it will open that instead of web browser. Pretty sure that basically is the same thing though - opening another application to get into a game is really stupid. But I got worse issues than just this. I can't play games on an external hard drive because I got Uplay on the internal SSD (which has very little memory in comparison). Uplay won't launch or will be stuck on the launch loading screen then crash because it doesn't like the fact I'm trying to play a game on external drive when my Uplay service is on SSD. Which btw.... for some reason it's okay with R6S on external drive but it's not okay wtih Assassin's Creed: Orgin or Odyssey. Or even Star Trek Bridge Crew. So THAT is my reason for calling this piece of crap a load of ****. Because that is what Uplay is.
