We're all making maps no-body can find or play by chance, so sign here if you want to play other people's maps and have them play yours in return. Sign your name and map name and I'll use the search function in Map Editor Archive to run through it. Hopefully we can make the 360 map rotations slightly less random if we all rate honestly.
My first two maps are:
Four Islands (medium/large)
Crater Lake (small)

Any feedback is good, even negative.
Yes, I saw that, thank youI will work extensively on the Waterfall and try to relocate the capture points, but the Outpost is meant to look like an overly developed encampment. Do you think it would be better as another temple? Glad you spotted the Graveyard
I'll check out your maps tonight when I get home.

Map: Bates Motel

I've spent the last hour implementing changes based on the feedback I've hadI left the encampment for the time being, but it's grittier. The signs are gone, as are the umbrellas, pots, and flowers. It's a little more ragged too thanks to some blood splatter. I want to wait for a bit more feedback on the capture points before making any changes there
I tried my best to fix the waterfall, but the cursor simply refused to pick up splash effects
To compensate, I made the waterfall bigger with the streams connecting properly now. I've also deepened the cove so we can say the water is running off into the ocean
Thanks for all your great tips
The newer model is uploaded by the way![]()

Hey Niko - Bate Motel is a good map. I like it. My only suggestion would be that the sight lines might be too easy for snipers. I like the attention to detail which is subtle and realistic. I wonder whether there might be a way to channel the combat through the motel itself a bit more. I tried it on domination and the movement was mainly around the outskirts. Just a suggestion. Otherwise its really good. Shame the rain comes through the building's roof, otherwise it would be much more homely.Originally Posted by anonamix Go to original post
Just had another run through on domination. I can still get underneath the left hand side of the waterfall (from B) which is slightly odd. Try filling the space with Large boulders from the rock menu to make a cliff to match the falls. The pool is much better, although you need to use the "smooth" tool to soften the edges since I got stuck trying to exit onto the island for B and getting back to shore. A simple 'test map' swim through will resolve this. I'm not sure what you're going for with the camp, but if gives the impression of it being a temple research kinda place. Maybe add some beaten pathways (using the terrain tool, not roads) to and from the camp to make to look like it was once used. Some destroyed vehicles loaded with treasure maybe? overturned with bodies?Originally Posted by IIFatalshockII Go to original post
The biggest issue I found was that a lot of the temple buildings don't meet the ground. When swimming i actually got under the temple near C and stuck. Try lowering the water level, lowering all the buildings to ground level, then raising it again. Do a test run to make sure it feels ok.
Zajemacha- Crater Lake
I just had an absolutely exhilarating time exploring this map. The detail is at times breath-taking, and I can only imagine the efforts made. I simply adored the Flicker light illuminating the Tool sheet. Little things like that put a big grin on my face. I ran into one little niggle while at A. There are some floating rocks in the water you may want to anchorI also found the Designated zones almost restricting at times. There was a big almost tantalising pier at the back that I wanted to dive in and explore, but It wouldn't let me cross the zone. That's a personal niggle though, and shouldn't be changed just because I love to explore. My only real problem came at the end. I was sitting on the bridge railing capturing B, and decided to look down the waterfall at the wonderful detail below. Woops! Fell down. I expected to die, but instead landed in the deep pool. Couldn't get out I'm afraid lol Try as I might. Couldn't do anything but drown myself. Is there anyway you can drag the perimeter limiter across there so you fall out of the battle zone and just die after 10 seconds?
Other than that it is a superbly executed map and I will DEFINITELY play this competitively![]()
