I purchased Far Cry 3 through steam, and I am unable to run the game in DirectX 11. If I run "farcry3_d3d11", it opens Uplay and wants me to enter a key; it says its invalid and I'm assuming that's because I purchased through Steam. Someone told me to open up the game, and in the options change DirectX 9 to DirectX 11; however it will not let me (it only stays on DirectX 9). Is there any way to run Far Cry 3 DirectX 11 through a steam purchased Far Cry 3? Thanks for any help
Doesn't mean anything.Originally Posted by donxdeck Go to original post
What graphics card do you have? If running Vista/ Windows 7 DXDiag will show running as DX11 no matter what as that is the latest verison.
one of two, things
Graphic card dose not fully support DirectX 11 or your Drivers are not up to date / supported at this time
workaround; C:\Users\#User Name#\My Documents\my game\Far Cry 3\GamerProfile.xml - open the gamerprofile in windows notpad navigate to UseD3D11="0" and change the zero to "1" save and exit; open properties of the GamerProfile.xml file and make it read only [this will force DX11 to be used if the gpu and driver support it]

You are able to start your farcry3_d3d11 via Steam? My FC3 crashes everytime when I try that (and my key is invalid, too). GTX 670 DC2 here..Originally Posted by donxdeck Go to original post
Tried to verify the files a few times and re-downloaded the game completely - no success.
