Hi
Played Far Cry 3 for 9 hours and had a blast, but suddenly I can't start the game anymore. When I press play in steam, the Far Cry 3 updater launches (I can see it in the program manager), but it then closes and nothing else happens.
AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series with latest driver,
Intel Core i7-2600K CPU 3.4GHz
8Gb RAM
I've tried to reinstall, verifiying game cache, having steam on offline mode, steam and uplay on offline mode, checked that FarCry3 IS 1.02 (It is). Have played it without flaws before and I've had to listen to my friend praising it when he made his play-through after my problem started.
I've re-installed Uplay once already (forgot to mention that) and it automatically updated to what I suppose must be the latest version. Other steam run ubisoft games like anno 2070 works fine.
I'm using Microsoft security essentials, which can't block it. Windows firewall states that the program is already set as an exception and I even tried turning off the firewall and still it didn't launch.
Done that and had no help so far and I'm not expecting that I'll get any. The community tends to be better at it.Originally Posted by Ubi-Mush Go to original post
Uhm... things you could try (or allready have tried):
1. Run chkdsk to check for diskerrors.
2. If you have steam (maybe other installs as well) go to the "x:/blabbla/blabla/far cry 3/support" folder and run the different installers to make sure the other software is installed.
3. Delete the game and then manually delete all farcry3 folders. Main game one and the one in "my documents/my games" and try to remove all registry references to farcry.
4. Reinstall the game.
Thats what I could think off. Don't have this problem myself so I don't know any guaranteed solutions
Good luck.
