    My problem arose from trying to solve an error about a missing d3dx9_43.dll. My first fix was to download the dll and place it in the farcry folder. This got past the error, however the voices did not work. I then removed the dll before installing the directX web install here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downl...ils.aspx?id=35. I then had voices!

    Hi everyone. It's time that i played far cry 3 again. But now it's common to say that - "IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY INGAME SOUND". It's been a drag to make sounds to work. But i finally found a right solution for anyone who comes to this forum by chance like me again for this game. So after you have tried every other methods given in the net you can also try this one ---

    It seems 64 bit drivers doesn't work properly with this game's audio. So no matter if you have 64 bit win7/win8 installed, just install vcredist(x86) all versions, and every version of directx that you can find for x86. clear %temp% files and folders( not necessary but i am telling each of what i did to make it work), and restart pc.
    Then run the game. Adios.

    Check your sound mixer (Windows or sound card specific) to be sure it is set to the correct number of speakers. If you are using a headset instead of the computer's speakers you may need to separately configure the headset for "stereo".

    5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 sound will have the dialog on the center channel (the center speaker).

    2.0, 2.1 and 4.1 sound will have the dialog on the two front channels.

    If you have only 2 front speakers (no center speaker) and you have set the sound to 5.1 or greater you will not hear the dialog.

    Set speakers to "Stereo" and you should hear the dialog.

    Win7:
    Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Sound
    Click "Speakers" icon
    Click "Configure" in the lower left
    That opens the Speaker Setup window, set your speakers to whatever is appropriate.
    Haha, what an easy fix. Every game I own and play has had the same problem. But duh!!! My center speaker is not hooked up and therefore couldn't hear dialog. Changed it to stereo and EVERYTHING SOUNDS AWESOME!!! Glad I found this because it's been almost a year since I built my rig and haven't ever heard a thing in my games. You have just made my day, friend.

    Sound from both PC seakers and headphones

    I am using a laptop with Win-7 and for the record, all other ways I use the media player or internet streaming for example, my sound paly fine on PC when NO headphones plugged in, and sound only on headphones when they are plugged in. It is this game only Far Cry 3 that for some odd reason, when I plug in my headphones (due to the adult language) the sound is diminished and it still comes from laptop speakers at same time.

    Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Right click on speakers/whatever you use as an output > Configure > Choose: Stereo > Next > Check: Front left and right > Next > Finish.

    If that doesn't work then I have no idea. Good luck!
