Far Cry 3 Sound Problem - Can't hear characters voices, can hear everything else

I don't think this is a sound card issue as I've never had this problem with any other recent game I've installed, and the game runs perfectly otherwise. I can hear all audio, its only character dialogue that I can't hear. I just see their lips moving. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks.

I also have dialogue problems. All the sound works perfectly but the dialogue is delayed and stutters. I have found nobody on the internet who has this problem except for me. I am running the game on Windows XP and DirectX 9. Could it be my Computer? Or some settings?

Hi guys, have you opened a ticket with Technical Support?

    How many speakers do you have? 2, 4, 5, 6, 7?

Check your sound mixer (Windows or sound card specific) to be sure it is set to the correct number of speakers. If you are using a headset instead of the computer's speakers you may need to separately configure the headset for "stereo".

5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 sound will have the dialog on the center channel (the center speaker).

2.0, 2.1 and 4.1 sound will have the dialog on the two front channels.

If you have only 2 front speakers (no center speaker) and you have set the sound to 5.1 or greater you will not hear the dialog.

Set speakers to "Stereo" and you should hear the dialog.

    Win7:
    Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Sound
    Click "Speakers" icon
Click "Configure" in the lower left
That opens the Speaker Setup window, set your speakers to whatever is appropriate.

Question / Suggestion: Why is there only "Master Volume" in sound options ? Could you add a Music, Sound, Voice ones as well ?

    Solution!

I contacted Ubisoft technical support and the guy I spoke with was able to solve this issue. I don't remember his name, but this is what worked for me:

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Right click on speakers/whatever you use as an output > Configure > Choose: Stereo > Next > Check: Front left and right > Next > Finish.

If that doesn't work then I have no idea. Good luck!

Also people with this problem check your GamerProfile.xml under Documents/MyGames/FarCry 3 and see if IncomingVoiceEnabled="1" is set to "one". dont know if this is for singleplayer or multiplayer but you can always double check it....

Same issue running on Windows 7. My speakers are set to stereo, verified that. My head phones don't' have an option to Configure them. I have no dialog sound using speakers or the headphones. Is anyone from UbiSoft monitoring these threads? Any suggestions, help? There seem to be a lot of people with this problem.
