Im sorry..But the developers really messed up on this game for multiplayer. For one, Invite Xbox Live Party, basically doesn't work if you can create a small lobby before you join a game, And this is even on the PS3 which makes no sense since there is no Xbox Party like system. Levelling anything is bugged. It took me 2 hrs to level my 1887 to just lv 3 of straight games because the gun kept resetting my level on my gun. Personally I found this game a disappointment..And am planning to return this game as soon as possible. Next time Ubisoft don't release a game that is buggy enough to be considered unfinished by some people.
UBISOFT FAR CRY 3 multiplayer developers.
There really needs to be an easier system in finding custom made maps. Gets extremely annoying that once you have put a lot of time and effort in creating a map and once published it that it gets easily lost within the system and is highly unlikely to be found and played by other gamers.
For example if you make a team deathmatch custom map there should be a tab which says team deathmatch and once clicked on it then it will give you an option to list newly created team deathmatch maps recently published, most played tdm maps, a way to view them alphabetically, date created etc.
Same should go for all other game types.
A proper categorizing system browser should be mandatory in this day and age in multiplayer gaming especially if you give the gamer the option to make custom maps, otherwise people will stop playing Far cry 3 online.
BTW I am playing PS3 version.
got the game on tuesday and iv had good views on the game from friends so i started playing, first time i played i couldnt stop playing it was great to hunt and kill but why hasnt the game got more guns i mean farcry 2 had more of a selection but then its not an issue having so many weapons is that you dont know what to choose on each mission but with issues the only problem i found with the game was them radio towers- on the second island the towers are frustrating to climb i was constantly slipping off the rails or over jumping the platforms which really ticked me off then theirs also the stairs for some reason im gettin stuck just as im climbing the stairs or enter buildings the door way or the base of the steps are always stopping my player from getting anywhere, anyway had the game from tuesday midday and iv just completed it, or so i think im gettin credits as im writing this, iv found its a great game with small problems like stamina- u can run for a long time and not get tired, animals- u can only see them directly theirs no way to see em sneak up on you on ur map tho it does make it more realistic and the stairs and door way issue. gonna see the multy player part and finish off the side missions i missed and maybe go on the slaughter if i get bored. i would have found it more fun with a longer story line, more weapons and maybe better control on them cars and quads their sliding all over the place.
I'm going to stick to topic as it says "Multiplayer feedback".
The multiplayer is a great idea and have a great potenial, but is executed poorly. Big maps = good right? No, to small teams means there's hardly any combat and is often decided by who sees who and if they got body armour. The diffrent gamemodes and team-play mechanics reminds me alot about Brink, which is good because I like their idea. The weapon system needs tuning but it's wopking fairly well. I will not get into the bugs and lobby system because they can speak for their selfs.
Now to my favorite online feature: Co-Op
This gamefeature is great (compared to other games) But can lack of the same issue as the multiplayer sometimes. There should be more ways to help your team, like offering ammo heal smaller wounds (and big ones quick), it can be fixed with DLC. I feel this should be added because players are to competetive, meaning that they would offer a players life for a few more kills. It should be more Co-Op and not P-V-P/E. The bugs in this gamemode are big and should be mentioned quickly, you can get stuck, from something as silly as doing a assaination or jumping onto a box, if it's a bad host players might be disconnected (and therefore ending the game for others), The map could bug out and force you to restart it, for example the rockets not firing in overboard, you could also gain imortality if you join late which is fun but still boring if the map get bugged out and you need to kill ypurself to restart it.
A quick mention when I played with a friend on the xbox 360 (split screen Co-Op) it was a competition and he couldn't join because he was player two (often happens) so he sits back and enjoys the show because there's nothing he can do. Then we get kicked of inactivity, why? Because the game had it programmed to stop player two from entring the game while there's a competiton (maybe because of the chance he/she might cheat for player one) so he couldn't move and then got kicked.
The multiplayer and Co-Op feels like it could be great, but have big flaws. If they get fixed, Far Cry 3 would be the best game of our generation.
It's a single player game, not a CoD rip off. THe multiplayer may suck but have you tried the story? The game is worth buying for that, not the Multiplayer consider them a plus.Originally Posted by HorribleMulti Go to original post
This has happened at least 3 times now.I have finished matches saying I leveled up and also leveled up weapons, but after the match I check my profile and I still have the same amount of XP I went into the match with, including weapon XP. Not only that, but farcyoutpost.com likes to eat my rewards from decoding. That is, I will finish decoding something and obtain the reward, but I don't actually obtain it. So I can't use farcryoutpost to decode anything. It also says I'm still at level 3...when I am now at level 53.
Not to mention the lag in this game is terrible. Love the killcams where I got shot on one side of a boulder and my body is lying on the opposite side of the boulder.
