You can't share them?! That's even more frustrating after hearing a lot of folks talk about the lack of people on multi-player right now. It boils down to the fact that COD and Halo always eat up a large portion of the multi-player crowd, and I doubt we're going to see a lot of people still playing FC3 a year from now.Originally Posted by The Munkey Go to original post
I have a friend who also loves making maps, so the two of us could have continued to play this game for a long, long time... if we had the option.
Absolutely! It seems to me that the amount of time it takes for aiming down the sights of a gun takes too long as well and at times is laggy in response to pressing the aim button and then pressing the fire button. I think that should be sped up as well.Originally Posted by FROGM4N Go to original post
Seconding all of these suggestions. Game also needs a capture the flag/diamond gamemode.Originally Posted by The Munkey Go to original post
I can't believe you closed the poll for vehicles in multuplayer thread and told us to post here for the devs to see. You have to be kidding me. The vehicle thread is the largest one by far in this forum. I am pretty sure the devs are aware of it. My guess is they dont want to see the poll voting to go even higher now that the game is out. Currently 574 people registered here want vehicles in MP.
Draw distance. This is a game killer. Uploaded my map to see if things were any better than during the editor phase and the aren't. Certain objects have only a limited draw distance on them, making a custom made building (a coluseum for example) impossible to make because it disappears from view within a short distance. In my coluseum, if I stood on one side of it, the other side would vanish, and players would quite literally be running around on what seemed like midair.
I doubt this is fixable at this point, but what I will say is that this is the same engine on the same console as far cry 2. Far cry 2 did not have this problem. I hate to be just another rude snotty gamer flooding these forums with complaints and attacks on the devs, but there is simply no excuse for Half of the map editing experience missing from 4 years ago.
I have been looking forward to another go at map making since the farcry 2 community died long ago. I was expecting so much since you guys have had 4 years to improve it. Now, between the vehicles, Ziplines, weapon drops, lack of free for all deathmatch, the awesome but equally useless AI feature, missing turrets, windows, draw distance reduction, reduction in overall map size, and most importantly, the lack of proper lobbies, servers, the ability to play with friends, as well as competitively, and a proper way to host and share your own maps that undoubtedly take a lot of time and determination to create... I am utterly and completely let down. 100%. Period. Map making was all I wanted from this game. It single handedly would have justified $60.
I don't know what happened, but please, please don't allow this to happen again in the next installment of farcry.
I'll just echo what almost everyone else has been saying. The lobby system is horrible. Also, what is the point of giving us such an advanced map editor if you're just going to make it more difficult to share maps? In every previous Far Cry game, we've been able to do open lobbies and put a series of maps into rotation. Not any more. WHY?
Also, the lack of game modes is simply mind-boggling. Look at your major competition - Halo and COD. What do both of these franchises offer - a plethora of game modes to select from. There's no excuse for restricting FC fans to only four game modes. And where the heck is regular Deathmatch? This has been a staple of every single FPS - how could this be left out? I understand that the developers wanted to concentrate on teamwork - but doing so at the expense of your fans seems extremely counterproductive.
What I really don't understand is that this game's release was delayed a few months. If you're going to release your game in the same timeframe as Halo/COD, then you need to make ****ed sure that your product is the best that it can possibly be. A beta test could have found many of these issues.
I'm afraid that if these issues aren't fixed soon, then by the time the patch does come around, most players will have given up.
I am disgusted to find out that what used to be my favorite franchise for map editing has now taken vehicles out of it. If I dont see this added in by the end of the month, it gets sold, and the second copy I bought my kid for Xmas unopened, returned to store for total refund. Much Like Cod, you have forgotten your roots Ubi.

First of all let me just say a thank you for making a wonderful game that has given me a great Single Player and Co-op experience (I'm still playing Co-op like a madman), your game is amazing! The Multiplayer, however, is very far from perfect, so let me me just go ahead and give you a couple of ideas:
-The UI needs better organization and graphical extensions
It's very hard to quickly navigate between places, the chat is too small (it fits only 3 lines, which makes it impossible for more than 2 people to chat), the navigation between menus generally is very far from perfect. The creation of Loadout is suffering from the same issues, I mean come on the drop down menus to select stuff? Maybe a revision of it would be not the worst idea?
-The MP needs more game modes
There really is very little to choose from and the game modes that you can actually select are very trivial. I would love to see some custom game mode in which each player can only use a bow or has to fight with different weapons for a certain period of time until they switch to another random weapon. Something that is fun and can take you away from the classical modes.
-Decoding needs expansion and better explanation
This decoding feature you've added is something I thought is very silly at first, but ended up getting addicted to it. The thing is, some things just don't work the way they should and some things should have been explained better. When your friend gives you more than one booster, the 2nd booster simply disappears and you cannot use it. Now, imagine if you have 20 friends and 5 of them gave you booster in the time window of 3 hours. You cannot humanly use so many boosters so quickly both technically and practically. How about STORING boosters for future use? Another thing is the explanation of the features, it would be awesome if the maximum possible Mk. X would be shown or explained. In the badges tab and on weapon list it's hard to understand which weapons have best mods. I mean, a graphical representation would be amazing, like stone for Mk 1, Steel for Mk 2 and all the way up to Gold at Mk 5 (I guess). Please, do consider making adjustments to this system, because it's awesome, yet very raw.
-Statistics needs re-organization
It's very difficult to find specific weapon you've used in the list you have provided. What if you would make a tab with all the weapons in the game and by bringing your mouse over them you would see the statistics for them? That makes sense and looks much cooler. Plus all the other statistics tabs are cluttered with information that no one cares about. What if you would try to re-think them and organize them a little bit more neat?
-Awards need re-thinking
Right now the awards in FC3 are basically badges that have absolutely no value neither for achievement-hunters, no for a casual player. Having them does nothing and does not unlock any features (at least I don't see it doing anything) and just takes space for no reason. Majority of them are very easy to get too, making them really exist for no reason.
-Weapon Mods sub-menu needs re-thinking
It's just not comfortable right now and does not provide all the needed information at the spot. Is the Mk 5 the best mod? What does the mod do? What's the difference between mod Mk 3 and Mk 4? Until these questions are answered in clear and neat manner, we cannot say that the UI succeeded.
-Profile sub-menu needs expansion
Not enough information provided again. What will I get when I advance to next level? Selection of Final moves and support actions could be much less tedious (guys, come on, you are Ubisoft, number one company when it comes to awesome neat stuff and you go with... sub-menus for FC3...). The icons for levels are not self-explanatory, they really are just a bunch of weird shapes with level 75 being a sort of a crown and everything else just a bunch of shapes with no sense of progression.
-The kill-cam needs to give out all information immediately
Although the kill-cam you've made looks remarkably beautiful and unlike anything I've seen before in video games, it becomes really clumsy after a couple of times you've seen it. When a guy kills me, I would like to see what is he using right away, not in step-by-step fashion to figure out if I can reverse-engineer some of his ideas or to analyze why is he stronger than me right away.
-Uplay and Far Cry 3 need to merge better
At this point in time the Uplay avatar is not used anywhere in FC3, the activity feedback in the first MP menu is horrendous (only 3 lines), it's hard to understand which one of your friends did what and how is it awesome. The likes are not explained and should be (like, here's your friend did something awesome - like that stuff up!). the friends-list is again very small when you try to create a party for co-op or to go to MP. Please improve the design of these things.
That would be all for the time being, I really don't see the point of discussing weapon/attachment/skill/equipment/map balance or give any feed back on it just yet, since the game just came out, but these blatantly bad design and UI choices really butcher the MP experience for me and for many other people. Please Ubisoft, since you wanted our feedback, do your best to improve the game.
