For PC:
If MP games are hosted on ubi servers, then we need more dedicated ones in our area, leading into point #2. If they are on player pc's, then that needs to stop.
Match players in a game to their reigon/area. Tired of getting matched up with players cross-country and watching them lag thru a full clip, then turn around and get killed by 2 or 3 bullets of theirs, while behind a solid rock
Vehicles would be a +, and we need more map variety.
Ammo crates or shouts
Should be incentives to max-level your weapons. As i understand it, once you've leveled them enough to unlock all their mods, they dont get any stronger/provide you any extra benefits. So for example, if your SMG is maxed, it gives you a 20% speed boost. If your assault rifle is maxed, your bullets do -x amount- more damge, on top of whatever ammo mods you're using, ect.
+1 :
the auto aim/ acceleration off option. Lessens the Rambo spray and pray that this MP boils down to.
Vote down map option. If a map really sucks there should be a way to expedite it's disappearance.
Map editor ( still relevant to MP!) :
Generate new map settings. Generating a map is a good idea. Why settle there? Please give us options to the setting . Populated, vacant; Jungle, Beach; Mountainous, Flat , etc.
Mappers' options for loadout / Team Support restrictions. So the map can be played the way the mapper intended .
Spawn/ Object/ AI radius (for randomness) , Spawn death time after # spawns .
Waypoints ( for objectives/ AI )
Ammo crates
and of course MP free roam, MP vehicles, MP AI.
Here's some feedback...
IT DOESNT WORK!!!!
Ive tried at least 10 matches now... couldnt get through a single one. Love to tell you guys what needs work, but seeing as how I've yet to be able to play it... I CANT!
Here's some actual feedback... Fix the user created map sharing. We need lobbies and playlist hosting.
Also like to add some filers for the amount of players.
The standard maps are medium-big(ish) and when there's less then 10 players on each side, it turns into a largely cat and mouse game. E.G. rather boring.
We need new maps, but we also need new maps that are smaller in size. Shouldnt be that hard to detect the amount of players in any given lobby, and assign a map rotation that reflects the number of players.
Edit: Heavy armor (mp) needs to be tweakled as well. If its going to take up both of your gear slots (no idea why you cant wear a single grenade or molotov with it, but w/e) then it needs to be worth using. As it stands now, it only takes a small burst of fire to completely strip it from you. For it to be worth using, it should be able to take an entire clip from an assault rifle before being destroyed.
Wouldnt hurt to have random armor replenishers in the game as well (or a shout that does it)
I'm probably not going to say anything that hasn't been said, but feedback and constructive criticism for this game is completely necessary. It's obvious that UBI has to work on the Map Editing system, my community (http://www.undead-xbox.com/) used to host some Fallout roleplay matches back on FarCry 2. Might sound a little cheesy to some of you but we had a blast.
In FarCry3, we've had a lot of limitations on re-creating our custom game fantasies. When I first brought up the map editor, I literally orgasmed at all the new options you guys gave us. I had creative ideas spilling out of my brain with every highlighted option. I was placing AI on the map for post-apocalyptic ambushes, making bases of filled raiders for my community players to raid and be rewarded with flamethrowers and ammo to fight other player opponents. Placing vehicles like the oil semi-truck to be fantasised as a water container for our new roleplays. And countless intricately placed ammo piles so players could reload to fight other players in our post-apocalyptic roleplays.
But then came disappointment, I finished my map to be only faced with the greatest obstacle of all. The map restrictions. Everything I had created was disallowed and taboo for multiplayer. My mind overflowed with thoughts like "Why would they let you place AI, vehicles, and ammo so you can't play them on multiplayer? So you can download the map and play it by yourself? What the hell was Ubisoft thinking?". And that was the tip of the iceberg, there isn't even ffa deathmatch in FarCry3 multiplayer. I shed a tear for every ounce of disappointment that the map editor shadowed me with. I played some multiplayer team deathmatch, and discovered that you either play as Vaas's ultimo-badass pirates or the indigenous Rakyat who don't even have shoes. What is this.
I came here to see if other players were sharing my thoughts, and they undoubtedly are. Make a patch, make a download, make an update of some kind that gets rid of these map editing restrictions, and introduces a deathmatch gametype. And if you can, make some new player models, for christ's sake the Rakyat are running around practically naked. I know it's a lot to ask but if people are going to continue playing your game, you need to adapt.
Dear Ubisoft Multi-player Team,
I'm an old Farcry fan and a map editor fanatic and have been playing your new FarCry3 multi-player on the 360 lately and have even created a map. The first thing you want to do when you finish a map, is get it played and see how people like it.
One thing that I'm noticing right off the start, is that players online are either confused or upset that they cannot play their own maps publicly, or there is no way for anyone to know your map is public and being hosted. With this being said, I feel FarCry3 multi-player may loose players interest and fan base very quickly; including myself. I believe that the custom maps are what strengthens its multi-player community and fan base. Not the match making or even the standard maps. However if both were combined, It would be a Gold Mine! in my opinion. Because no-one else is doing it this way in other games that Ive seen on console, this would be a very innovative approach.
This is what I would propose or how I could see it being done with whats already there: For Match-Making lobbies:
I'd have 2 main lobbies.
1) A Players Choice Lobby. (basically the bronze map list lobby)
This lobby would be sub divided into game type, Team Death match, etc...
In the lobby it matches you up like any other match making but allows each player in the lobby to upload 1 published custom map from their Own Map List. This map then goes into the lobby's map pool. Then two maps are randomly selected to be voted on for the next match. (similar to COD's setup) Once played, each player then has the ability to give the map a 1 to 10 rating. After played people have the choice to then vote on the next map or to play the same map again. But a map can only be played twice. When all maps in the pool have been played, either the lobby closes or cycles back through again.
The highest rated maps in the community at large and the ones recognized by Ubisoft are then used in the second Lobby. (basically the silver or gold lobby)
2) Highest Rated Lobby. (Basicly Silver or Gold map lobby)
In this lobby you are matched up like normal, except players are not allowed to upload any maps into the pool like a normal match-makeing lobby. This lobby is also sub grouped into game type.
3) I would also like to mention that it would be good to keep Public Custom matches for those who want to invite the public and take the chances on getting players.
I know there may be flaws and many other variations of this idea, But I think something like this would boost game base and overall fun. How cool would it be, if you had a chance to share and interact with a match-making lobby with others.
Thank you very much for your time and hope this is helpful in anyway. The map editor is awesome!
see ya'll on the island! (I also made this a separate post)

I couldn't agree more, well said this post stops me from writing one myself, I don't think they are really listening our words fall on deaf ears.Originally Posted by ApocalypseWoIf Go to original post
