But It's been a while since I played a FPS, I got boarded with the genre.
Can't put this one down though.
Havn't tried Multiplayer yet.
-- There is many trouble with custom keys setting.
*During somes weapons chalenge, the zoom is reset as default key setting.
*The wings keep use the default key setting wasd, and not the ones i choosed to move / drive.
*Many bug in coop to res a teamate, the action key dont work properly many time
-- Please ! Unlock all attachments for weapons in SP, its not really fun not have all the MP choice for weapons customization.
-- ALL scope DOT are WAY too huge ( even if there is a way to easyly fix them with "modding"
-- SVD sniper is weak.. in COOP only 5bullets, you need 2 shoots to kill a AI, or 4 shoots when a silencer is used. thats totaly insane. the Zoom Sway is also way too insane, look like your character is totaly drunk.
-- Bullet disappearance after a little distance is also a huge problem in SP

-- Also, the SP definitely NEED something, or a option to make the pirate be able to take back the various outposts, because when the outposts are free, the map is really really too empty.

Firstly thankyou for making a totally addictive (my wife doesn't agree!) and fun game, I have already spent 30+ hours just exploring this lush beautiful landscape that you guys have made for us to explore, I have barely even started the MQ! It's just too much fun hunting animals and swimming to watch Turtles, Jellyfish, and fish swim past, call me a Hippy!
The only things I can suggest for improvement are
1. Options to modify and remove the HUD which apparently you guys are already adressing in your next patch which is fantastic, thanks for this!
2. More PC performance optmizations, ESPECIALLY for mobile laptop cards and Quad Core Processors. I am running a GTX560M and after downloading and installing the latest BETA Nvidia reference drivers, I didn't notice ANY improvement in terms of FPS at all, not one FPSThen I read that apparently Ubisoft arn't supporting Mobility cards at all
I am running a ROG Asus G74SX Gaming laptop with a Quad Core Processor (i7 2630Q @ 3.0gighz), 16GB of DDR 1333mhz Ram, and a GTX560M with 3GB of Dedicated DDR5 Video Memory; I had to turn DX11 off completely, and turn Shadows and Geometry to Low just to get the game playable in 1920X1080 and a constant 30 FPS (most are aiming at 60fps I am lucky to reach 40)! I bought this gaming laptop as a Desktop replacement, I can't believe game studios just don't get how many people are using mobile gaming rigs these days
3. Shooting is too easy IMO, here is a guy who has no fighting experience whatsoever, who cringes every time he has to skin an animal, and pannicks in the beginning, yet he can fire guns like he is a Marksman! Maybe use a STALKER mentality and make an option for him to improve with practice?
Thanks again this is indeed a brilliant game![]()
This is a beautiful, fantastic game. The story mission set-pieces are stunning, and jungles and ancient ruins are my favorite setting so I loved exploring the island. There are so many small touches to the game that greatly enhance the experience that I can't list them all. Played on Windows XP and had very few problems. I'll just quickly add a few thoughts.
- There doesn't appear to be any in-game (or in-Uplay) functionality to take screenshots. For such a beautiful game, it was a shame to not be able to take any screens of my journey.
- After completing the game, it would be nice to be able to revisit certain story mission locations or even replay certain story missions. I understand that this would be incredibly complicated to implement, so the next best thing would be to allow multiple save slots. I was sorry to not see the 'save anywhere, anytime' system in this game, but the frequent, not to mention smart, checkpoint system works too. But at the very least, allow us to create multiple saved games. Unless I happened to miss something and we already can D:
First of all, just let me say that this is one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had and is easily my pick for GOTY. For this very reason, two factors upset me... 1. when the world is paused and 2. when I leave a first person viewpoint.
1: Why do you break me out of gameplay so often?
a) Why didn't you use the ingenious map from far cry 2? Pausing the game once a minute to check objectives is an unnecessary break in immersion and a step backwards from what you accomplished in the previous iteration. (also the map shouldn't show collectibles, that makes finding things less awesome)
b) Crafting shouldn't stop the world around you! My suggestion: Have an animation of Brody kneeling and getting out his lootsack. Once out use an overlayed transparent menu to let the player interface with the crafting system but not sacrificing immersion since the world will still be running (the player could still potentially be attacked). You could also use a transparent menu for the store interface as well to prevent the jarring transition that comes from your pause menu.
2: Why am I in third person all of the sudden?
a) Capturing radio towers and enemy bases should not shift you to third person. I understand your intentions with showing off areas of interest but your player base already loves exploring, we don't need help (especially if it sacrifices immersion).
Those are my two main areas of criticism but I'll list a few smaller things as well.
1. If you don't have any medical syringes you should only be able to do the "advanced first aid" if you are on your last bar of health and it should only take you back to 2 bars. As it stands its to easy to stay completely healed even if you don't have syringes.
2. HUD is too intrusive (honestly I don't need to be reminded of my objective every 3 seconds, I'm not incompetent)
3. I understand restarting when you fail story missions, however failing a side quest should be more organic. It should just state that I failed and then the world can go on (If I choose to try again I can go back and start the mission again.
4. The opening part of the story is a little rushed... why do the island natives think I'm a chosen one? Maybe have them test me in some way to smooth this transition a bit. Other than some rushed transitions such as this one, the story is top notch with deep complex themes... in other words, bravo Ubisoft
5. It would be cool if the tombs the relics were hidden in had some puzzle base gameplay to accompany them... I understand that the effort required to do this probably outweighs the benefits of having it in the game, but either way I thought I'd mention it.
6. day, night/weather cycle is too fast.
Now that criticism is out of the way I would like to praise your work a little bit. Vaas is the most phenomenal villain I've ever had the pleasure of facing off against. Your level design during story missions is top notch and variety is as good as its ever been in the Far Cry series. Your second to second gameplay is absolutely amazing and totally organic (going from stealth to a gun fight is so smooth and natural). your takedown system is the best first person stealth feature I've seen in the FPS genre. I could go on but you get the point... I really love your game.
Thanks for listening to all the feedback!
