Let's be blunt. Whoever was paid to create the Save / Load system should be fired immediately with extreme prejudice before they infect yet another game with more cretinous ideas. The mind boggles as to how nobody in such a large production team picked up on how ridiculously annoying the present system is before the game's release (although the same might be said of a number of other features).

Generally, I am getting quite disillusioned with Far Cry 3. What could (and should) have been a quasi-perfect game is so blighted by easily avoided glitches and poor design choices that it all too often descends into mediocrity. Jason is constantly getting stuck on marginal increments in height on the ground; the beautiful world is permanently spoiled by an offensively obtrusive interface (that has only been partially rectified by patches); enemies frequently find bodies hidden behind large structures with X-ray vision (a problem that Far Cry 2 suffered from already); the Save / Load system (as mentioned above) seems to have been designed with the specific intent of causing pointless annoyance; mid-size mammals seem to have roughly the resilience of a tank, and are frequently able to clear large encampments of what are supposed to be professional killers.

I apologize for the slight of undertone of anger above. At its best moments, Far Cry 3 is an amazing game - I am certainly not disputing that. But I've recently found these moments to be increasingly sparse, often interrupted by frustrating dynamics that serve only to break the immersion for no apparent reason. There are times when it seems doubtful that this game was ever subjected to a quality control or testing phase...

All this is not simply intended as a rage rant. The issues that I speak of here have been brought up in this thread many times, by many different users. Most of them could be fixed in heartbeat. But it seems probable that instead of addressing these issues as quickly and efficiently as possible, the team behind Far Cry 3 is currently working on some kind of DLC installment that will fail to fix any of the above, but is sure to be a lucrative source of revenue for Ubisoft. There will no doubt be a rather stunning trailer for these DLC's, in which sloppy game design and inattention to detail remain well concealed until after the purchase has been made, at which point, "who cares", right?

If anyone from Ubisoft is reading this: Please prove me wrong - I would be delighted.

They're probably all stuck at Joe Biden's house listening to him rant about how Far Cry is the cause of all our country's violence problems..

Totally agree on some points here. The "character" certainly does get stuck in step size elevations and the inconsistency of cover for dead bodies is annoying, also, any canvas object will be "transparent" to the enemy when used as cover for "the character". I certainly hate the issue on animal armour, where like you stated, medium sized animals can take ridiculous amounts of damage, making them very difficult to kill, leading to unnecessary deaths, when their agility, speed and aggressiveness is enough to give you a hard time such exaggerated resistance is an annoyance, but this is more an issue of balance because three arrows can kill any beasts, but a silenced sniper rifle will take +6 rounds to kill some animals.

I don't appreciate having a beast come in and clear an outpost I have been scouting and planning for an incredible attack with takedowns and silenced weapons, all towards getting some useful XP and much satisfaction of what was achieved. The save load system is fair and I personally save manually often, specially when you are not given a chance to change or resupply weapons and ammo mission started some times. I also hoped for a slider bar to choose music volume instead of an OFF/ON selection, music is nice but sometimes is very loud interfering with game sounds like grunt phrases and animal sounds that alert you to their behavior, like in the "kick the hornets nest" mission, nice music but too loud to be good.

.... So, 1.03 came out and added all these options, but I still can't get rid of the giant, immersion killing MAP.... Getting rid of the map was the reason I even wanted a patch... PLEASE fix this... And the fire arrows.

The buddy system has to come back.
More enemies. One way to do this and at the same time give us players a bit more challenge is by introducing some sort of defense minigame where enemies attack your outpost and if they win, they get their outpost back. This can get a little repetetive however so that's why a message should pop up saying: Enemies are attacking an outpost. Would you like to go there ? If you decline, the attack will stop.

There are several spots on the map where enemies spawn. Increasing their numbers in spawn would be greatful. Also I would like to know if and when patch 1.04 is coming to consoles ?

Not sure if anyone else can testify to this problem, but I've been seeing a gradual decrease my computer's ability to run this game. When I bought it, it ran fine on the "recommended" graphics settings, which had everything on "high". After a couple of days, it started getting so laggy and jerky that I had to choose "custom" and set everything to "medium". That worked fine for a while, but eventually the same lagginess came back, and I had to lower everything to "low". Recently, even with everything on "low", I've noticed quite a bit of lag. I can't put the settings any lower than they are though...

I found that exiting the game, not completely, just going back to the menu options got rid of that. It was annoying but not really a big problem.

Pros: Amazing graphics. Seamless travel transitions. Good AI actions by enemies. Sudden attacks by crocs and sharks are genuinely startling. But all are over shadowed by the game-breaking bugs.
Cons: Terribly designed save system. Only one save and an auto-save? Be serious. If I'd had multiple saves, I might have been able to load a game prior to hitting the "no camera, no rocks, weapon skin" bug.
Single-player bugs too many to mention but the aforementioned bug is a severity zero, kills the game, defect. No fix after 3 patches. Unbelievable that the development and testing team can be this incompetent. This will be the last new Ubisoft game I ever purchase.

I'm still quite confused about why it would be difficult to program a game that remembers to save my chosen difficulty level, rather than constantly (every single time I play) dropping it down without any notice... It's already far too easy on Warrior the way it is.

Also, Ubisoft, please note that the "object-stuck-in-hand" glitch has not completely been fixed by the last patch: I have now been playing for the last few days with an obtrusive Recurve Bow sticking out of Jason's right leg (or hip - whatever...).

I am, of course, assuming that somebody from Ubisoft is actually still occasionally reading the things posted here - a notion which seems increasingly dubious.

    Knife Throw Takedown

Not sure if this a bug or an intentional design choice, but I've just noticed that doing the Knife Throw Takedown seems to alert nearby hostiles (typically up to a range of about 10-15 meters. I'm also pretty certain that this is actually a recent development - I used to do these all the time on an earlier playthrough and it never seemed to have this effect.

I hope this isn't the next step in the gradual descent into glitchpocalypse that my Far Cry seems to be following. The Gunslinger Takedown has already ceased to work (and this was my all time favourite).
