I forget who just mentioned this, but I'd like to second the notion concerning excessive glare when using weapon sights. It's particularly frustrating that the Optical Sight tends to bolster a weapon's stats more than any other sight but is ultimately completely useless past a range of 20 or so meters because (a) the blue dot itself is absolutely massive, and (b) the surrounding blue glare makes it impossible to see anything in dark environments.
As an aside, please add at least 100 meters of range to every single weapon: too many times have I used an assault rifle or sniper rifle at a range of a 150 meters or so and had the bullet magically evaporate before it reached the target.
The first patch to toggle most of the HUD was splendid and much appreciated. However, I'm still holding my breath for an upcoming patch that would let you toggle the following:
- Mini-map (on / off)
- Enemy tagging (on / off)
Perhaps a further option to disable hostiles that are in "alarmed" mode from automatically appearing on the mini-map. The current system completely removes the element of surprise, and allows me to blanket a group of hostiles that I haven't even seen yet with grenades simply by looking at my map.
If you want a really good example of what a beautiful, immersive, and minimalist HUD should look like, look no further than ... ... Far Cry 2!!
I noticed that yesterday. I was like WTF.Originally Posted by WillJay840 Go to original post
This game is really great overall, but the one thing I can't get over is that when you replay the game, the Trials of the Rakyat achievements don't reset and cause you to miss out on an award and a signature weapon. As a result the game can't be beaten 100% on a second try and it's really turning me off.
I did notice that the Trials of the Rakyat don't reset, but I did still manage to unlock the Ripper (which you get for completing a certain number of the Trials) on both my second and third playthroughs. Did you make sure that you're actually hitting the target score (even though it will always have the three boxes as ticked, no matter what score you get, if you completed it on a previous playthrough)?Originally Posted by Mahntou Go to original post
As a couple of others have recently posted, there seems to be a recent development where bodies disappear almost immediately after they are killed.
I have to say, I've experienced many, many bugs and glitches over my years playing games, but to have a glitch that simultaneously manifests independently across different users after a set period of time is unprecedented. It's almost like the game had a built in time-bomb that said: "after 40 days, produce this glitch". It can't be update related as I play offline (mainly to avoid waiting half an hour every time I want to play while the game downloads my weapons stats and finds my uPlay friends - but let's not get into the atrocious monstrosity that is uPlay right now, it would take far too long to list everything that's wrong with it.)
