    Disappointed

Well I loved Far Cry, hated Far Cry 2 and was really looking forward to playing Far Cry 3.

The graphics are good, but the performance on my pc is a joke after the latest update.

I was pulling over 60fps according to Frap's and MSI Afterburner on release day, but after the latest update I cannot get more than 28fps despite my pc running Battlefield 3 maxed out at 1920x1080 Ultra @ over 100fps.

The multiplayer is a joke, cannot again get over 30fps and the stutter and lag has killed it for me so much that I am not even going to bother with trying to play it again until the stupid Frame Rate cap has been removed.

The lack of being able to have a gun ADS without having to hold the mouse button down is annoying as well, as is having to reset my controls evertime I load the game.

Before people ask, yes my pc is up to scratch to be able to play it maxed out.

    I7 2700K @4.8ghz
    8GB Corsair 1600mhz CL9 (2x4gb) Ram
    Asus Z77 - V Pro Motherboard
    Corsair Force 3 250Gb SSD
    MSI GTX680 2GB

I just wish I didn't buy this, as it's not worth the money in it's current form and if this is the new standard for Far Cry games on the PC then I won't be buying anymore of them.

yeah looks like many ppl are in the same boat here pal! I bought/built a new system for this game, looking forward to its initial sept release, then when they put it back I thought at least it ll be released refined and optimised for an awesome gaming experience. but iv spent more time so far since buying it trying to tweak and test settings drivers, glitches and other **** to get it to run smooth as it most definitely should....maxed out ! iv hardly paid attention to the so called epic story cause im viewing it in fps stutter, trying to understand why this **** wasn't tested and trialled prior to release to the world. its not our responsibility to do this..we are paying customers wanting a solid product that has not been delivered. many games have been like this lately..so sad. our only hope now is drivers that work..well and patches. cmon ubisoft its unacceptable.

A guy at work is running, it at pretty much the same settings as me but with GTX 680 sli and if he put's the details down to high or medium he get's 60fps but if he puts it at the max he drops to 30fps.

This game once I manage to complete the single player side of the game will be uninstalled, and I will continue to play BF3, BO2, COD4 and NFS MW not gonna bother with this game as it's poor just to poor to bother with.

Im on a Q9300 quad core with 6 Gb of ram and only a GTX570. when i put everything to max i get 30 FPS and with max i mean really max! so also field of view to the max and AA to the max. So i dont know what you guys are doing but with an i7 and a GTX 680 or GTX680 SLI it sure must be better then 30 FPS i get.

If i put AA off i get a nice 50 to 60 FPS thats enough to play the Single player.

Im guessing that the game looks through your system config and puts things off if you cant run them. Allot of my settings cant be set higher then high while other settings can be set to ultra. so i think some are greyed out with my configuration. And maybe thats what they did with the latest patch. Maybe they enabled more detail and more functions wich got automatically set to ultra.

Maybe thats because you have this frame drop all of a sudden. but that still keeps me wondering how in the world the GTX680 SLI cant run this game at 60 FPS with all settings to ultra. Thats almost impossible...

That's the annoying thing about it.

I can run the Crysis 3 Alpha, at max at 1920x1080 and get over 45fps and that game looks better than this game and as they have just released the spec's required to max it out and my pc meeting them seriously cannot understand how or why this game performs so bad.

For Crysis 3 to max it, you need to be running the following:

    Intel Core I7 2600K/AMD FX8150 or better
    8Gb DDR3 Ram or better
    GTX680/AMD 7970 or better

    http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/...ysis-3-specs/1

I would love to see the developers explain the poor performance though.

Thank's but you would think they would have a option in the game rather, than having to mess around editing config files.

I thought those day's were over, as the last time I had to edit a config file was in the days of Quake 3 Arena.

im sure this game will get better with another patch and also new video card drivers......

im running i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz and GTX680 SLI (310.64 beta drivers) and im sure sli is not working, im only getting <50fps avg about 40fps but drops to mid 20's sometimes (1920x1080, DX11, Ultra setting, 4xAA, HBAO)

Try it on lower detail setting's with SLI Disabled and then Enabled to see what happens to your frame rate.
