Ubisoft launcher says : "game running" when I launch Farcry 3 - Game does not launch

Ubisoft launcher says : "game running" when I launch Farcry 3 in either normal or Dx11 mode, however the game isn't launching.
I've tried relaunching, re-installing, nothing works!

Also, running far cry 3 updater brings up the following error popup - Cannot load resource files. Re-installing the game may fix this problem.

    Windows 8 x64.

    try this!

    1. First, you will need to uninstall the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software from the 'Add/Remove Programs' (Windows XP) / 'Installed Programs' (Windows Vista and 7) icon in your computer's control panel. It's possible that the "Ubisoft Game Launcher" software will not be listed if you have already uninstalled it, or the game. If so, you can skip this step.

    2. After uninstalling the software, you will need to manually delete any leftover files in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (32-bit versions of Windows) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher (64-bit versions of Windows). Please do not skip this step, it is very important. If this folder does not exist, please go to the next step.

    3. Reinstall the GameLauncher software from: http://static3.cdn.ubi.com/orbit/lau...rInstaller.exe.
Once installed, you should be able to start the game!

To post images, you can either upload it from your computer or host it somewhere. Click the image third from the right from the toolbar.

Right. followed all your steps, removed via add.remove. Deleted the Ubisoft folder in program files (there was nothing inside it),
Reinstalled via your link. Launched the game - same issue present.

I think I've managed to play about 50minutes of this game so far, can I simply play the single player campaign without Uspoil running?
    Error
"thank you for playing far cry 3
    time played 0 minutes"

Time spent trying to get it to work , 96 hours..... Absolutely disgusting crap

Thanks for the link, but no thanks

I'd already uninstalled/reinstalled several times, all drivers/directx/windows updates had been done.
I removed everything far cry 3 and uplay/launchers etc, ran ccleaner, and reinstalled, and got the same problem.
So I finally removed it all again and reinstalled, downloaded all the patches and installed one by one.
Then found an (un)reputable 3rd party crack - and now I'm finally playing this truly beautiful marvellous game in all it's splendour...

PS I downloaded Bioshock infinite from steam and it crashed when you tried to start the game after it had loaded (zooming in on a building)
Following a Steam forum tread - "make steam go offline and play it" - and viola, it's playing beautifully.
My point is this. Stop f***ing with the games. Just let us play them without the frustrating hoops to jump through....

    Same error

I am getting the same exact error in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, and it's frustrating me. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Uplay and the game 4 times and i still get the same error. I have opened a ticket and its my last hope before i get a refund.
I don't understand why i am having so much trouble, when i have seen the pirated version of it running perfectly fine. So fingers crossed that i get this fixed.
