    O/T -After Win-7 install

After planning on getting active again, I first decided to upgrade my new, improved rig to Win-7. I've finally accomplished that - turns out that going from XP to Win-7 is a real ordeal.

I'm now contemplating reinstalling SH4. However, I've heard that SH4 may not be compatible with 64-bit Win-7. Anyone have any experience with this?

Run fine on WIN 7, just do not put in program files or program files(x86). Make a folder, name it something like games or what ever and install the game there. Works fine on my computer.

I went from Windows XP to Windows 7 (64) with no problems. But as pabbi has said, install it in any place other then Program Files (86). This is true with any game you install on Windows 7. I made a folder called Games and install all my games there.

Not a bit of problem here. Win7 is a very good system for backward compatability (unlike Vista). Follow the advice of the others. Win7 has "compatability modes," you can set the game to run in a mode that emulates XP. I did that with several old programs and it makes a difference.

Yup. It works fine on my 64-bit Win 7 system too - no need for compatibility mode or anything exotic.

Running 64 bit 7 without any problems, it's generally pretty good with compatibility I've found.

Curiosity's sake, did you upgrade from XP or do a clean install? I've found the upgrades get a bit rough if its on top of a old install that's seen some mileage.
