Maybe later next week we will get answers? who knows. I just found a way to be able to play without blackscreens and freezes that worked for me. (Xp mode) for farcry.exe, DX9, medium settings and my radeon 7950 could not be overclocked, that was the thing. I have never experianced a game that could not run if the graphics was overclocked. All of my 20+ games i have installed works flawlessly but not this ****
I really hope they gonna fix this. I want to be able to run dx11 and high settings with a overclocked 7950.

    So fix for me was:
*Stock graphics (not overclocked) main thing.....
    *Xp compatibility mode for farcry.exe
    *DX9
    *medium graphics

Played 2 1/2h with this fix.

Im gonna try playing around with dx11 more and se if i can get it to work and test multiplayer.

I didn't install this game in a external hard drive..and Fluxxer, those fixes still doesn't work... looks like we''re gonna have to wait for a new patch for the game.. when i load far cry 3 with xp compatibility, it just stays at the logo, when i turn it off, it just goes into the black screen...

Hey Guys - check to see if its the setting you have the Microsoft Text set to. It was for me - I changed the Screen text size from Large to Medium and it all works perfect now!!!
Looks like the game cant deal with a difference between the screen text size and game text size.

    If you run Windows 7:

    Right Click Desktop
Click on 'Make Text bigger and smaller"'
Make sure its set to 'Medium''

I changed this one setting and now the game loads perfectly - before I had an infinite loop of the screen flicking on and off and also sometimes it would just crash.

Now I can run the game smooth as silk on my 15" Retina MBP - just as I can my FC2.

    Hope this works for you!

Think I am also getting this stupid problem. Game appears to work fine but randomly I get a black screen audio continues but I have to Ctrl + alt + del and close far cry 3. Ive tried re-installing, downloading the "critical" patch that does nothing to help me. Pre-ordered this game ages ago, yet ubisoft failed me and I cant even play the **** thing. Last ubi game I will buy.

    My setup is:
    Nvidia Geforce GTX 580
    Windows 7 64-bit
    8gb RAM
    Intel i7 cpu quad core @ 4ghz

I won't pre-order a uibisoft game again in ubisifts current state thats for sure. But if the change for the better i will give them one more chance. They might have the worst costumer support i ever have seen but when there games works and given som more love then their games a world class. I love ubisoft thats why im so mad at them for not helping och talking to the costumers.

Get Your Bloody Act Together, Ubisoft.

I'm not usually the one to right an angry comment on a forum. But, this has pissed me off. I've spent my hard earned cash on this sodding game, why doesn't it bloody work? I've tried everything, updated my drivers, my direct x, everything. I even tried downgrading my direct x to dx9. And all that made was a stressful weekend. Hell, I even contacted Ubisoft technical support, because that's all you bloody tell us to do, instead of trying to fix the problem. I've waited nearly 4 days, and still no sodding reply. When I insert a game disk into my disk drive, I expect it to f**king work. My Pc reaches the recommended specs (I can't be asked typing them, but it's more than capable) so it's not that. So, Ubisoft , grow a backbone and give us some bloody answers.
